Sales in Areas Internationally Where KDP Not Selling
Hi, My book just launched and picking up traction. However, I am getting request for bulk orders internationally, one person in particular is in Australia. What are ways that I can sell my books outside of KDP? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HK871PZK

@McFiggy H Thank you for sharing that! I can actually relate to the way you describe your stories coming to you like a movie. I think that can be a real strength because it allows you to visualize the scenes and action so vividly. It’s also great that you’re consciously working on adding more description to your settings. Sometimes, the action naturally comes first, and then you can go back and layer in the sights, sounds, atmosphere, and little details that help the reader feel like they’re right there in the scene. And congratulations on finishing a novel for publication! That’s a huge accomplishment in itself. I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself about wishing you had made it longer sometimes a well-paced story is better than one that feels stretched just to add words. Do you find it easier to describe scenes when you’re actually writing them, or when you go back and revise? And what inspired you to write the novel you just finished?
New tax in Austria
for customers in Austria books will become more expensive, here is a copy of an email from Amazon: Hello, Austria has introduced a new parcel tax. From 1 October 2026, on orders delivered to an address in Austria, you will see it as a separate line at checkout at €2.40 (incl. VAT) before you place your order. It is charged once per order, regardless of how many items you order or how many parcels the order arrives in. For more information, see the Austrian Ministry of Finance FAQ and our help page. Kind regards The Amazon Team

@Bernhard Karl Thank you for sharing this information. That’s definitely something authors and readers in Austria will need to keep in mind, especially with the additional €2.40 charge starting October 1, 2026. It’s interesting that the fee applies once per order rather than per parcel, but it could still make smaller book orders feel more expensive. It will be interesting to see whether this affects readers’ buying habits or how authors approach pricing and promotions for customers in Austria. Have you noticed any other changes Amazon has introduced that could affect authors or book sales? Do you think this new charge will significantly impact book purchases in Austria?
