I had purchased the Coaching Resource Library and was able to take a quick look at the Get Coaching Clients Toolkit for the first time yesterday just before my Internet went down for the day. I had to accept that there was no way I was going to reach my October 1 deadline. Fortunately I was able to go through the toolkit offline.

Personally, I think the #1 challenge any coach has in growing a coaching business is "no compelling offer."

@Heather Boers Agreed. 🥰
Where did your last coaching client come from?
Think about your most recent coaching client. Where did they first find you? 👇 Was it Skool, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, your email list, a referral, networking, your website, an event, ... or somewhere different? And if you’re still waiting for that first client, tell us where you’re currently putting most of your effort into finding them 👇

Ask for referrals intentionally. Satisfied clients, former clients, colleagues, friends, and professional contacts can become a powerful source of new business. Do not assume people will automatically think to refer someone. Tell them clearly who you help, what kinds of problems you solve, and what type of person would be a good referral.

I've spent a lot of time browsing the list contributions this afternoon. There is one important observation I would add to this discussion: Getting coaching clients is rarely about finding one magical strategy. The strongest client-getting system usually combines three things: visibility, relationships, and invitations. Visibility helps people discover you. Relationships help them trust you. Invitations give them a clear way to work with you. A coach can be wonderfully visible but never make an offer (a known downfall of my own). Another can constantly sell without building trust. Another can build wonderful relationships but never explain what they actually do. The sweet spot is having all three working together.
Would you choose group coaching or 1:1? 🌸
A group coaching program lets you to support more people without filling your week with more calls. But not every coach wants to move away from 1:1 work. Some love the close connection of private coaching. Others enjoy the conversations and shared learning that happen in a group. If you could design your ideal coaching business, what would you choose? 🔘 Mostly 1:1 coaching 🔘 Mostly group coaching 🔘 A mixture of both 🔘 Something else Tell us why in the comments 👇

I've offered both individual and group coaching through the years. Like @Stephen B. Henry I work out whether group coaching or a better fit for prospective clients.
