Reading Scripts through the eyes of your Inner Artist
To understand the character being portrayed, you must compare and contrast the role to your Inner Artist. We all experience a variety of emotions on any given day. By taking multiple attempts to understand the character, while in a different emotional state, Mathew McConaughey can see the role from more emotional angles. Unlike One-dimensional and two-dimensional characters who are all flat characters, a complex character needs to be understood and portrayed in a similar complex way. What are some the complexities of your Inner Artist?

The show Barry has quite a few of complex and non complex characters, I'd recommend analyzing and studying the characters in that show
Self-Talk
Self-talk is the internal dialogue or inner voice that a person has with themselves. It can be verbal or nonverbal, and can be intentional or automatic. Self-talk can be purposeful, like giving oneself instructions, or random, like making observations about the environment. Self-talk can be positive or negative, and can influence a person's beliefs, emotions, and behavior. Positive self-talk can help with performance and provide assurance and motivation. Negative self-talk can lead to poor performance and can perpetuate a cycle of self-sabotage. People with anxiety or depression often experience destructive self-talk. How are you talking to your Inner Artist?
