Midnight Espresso by the house of Kilian.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this new Kilian Midnight Espresso. It opens with a coffee that’s less intense than Black Phantom’s Chocolate and Rum, but it dries down to an intoxicating, creamy, and addictive vanilla. The coffee’s note is short-lived, but you’re left with a creamy chocolate vanilla scent that makes you irresistible to those close to you. My girlfriend kept complimenting me when she got close to me to smell it. I’m not a big fan of coffee and chocolate notes, but I genuinely enjoyed this new release from Kilian. I had to get it and now have something to counter my Black Phantom or layering them both. People who have smelled it have described it as having a “boozier Bianco latte” aroma with a “hint of Angel’s share.” I’d love to hear your thoughts on it once you’ve had a chance to try it.

New Amouage coming up
Decision 42 / Amouage “ Amouage Decision 42, and Amouage a house that don’t play when it comes to quality, they consistently one of the most respected names in niche perfumery. That soft sage-green bottle with the white cap and gold emblem is clean, elegant, understated luxury. 🌿 Top notes goin’ loaded — pink pepper, bergamot, neroli, cinnamon, and cardamom. That’s a real complex, spicy-citrus openin’, pink pepper and cardamom addin’ warmth while bergamot and neroli keep it bright and fresh. Middle notes bringin’ frankincense, juniper, myrrh, pine tar, and sandalwood — this the heart doin’ the most work, incense-heavy and resinous, that frankincense and myrrh combo givin’ it a real spiritual, church-adjacent depth, while pine tar add somethin’ dark and smoky. Base closin’ out with cedarwood, labdanum, patchouli, and vanilla — warm, resinous, slightly sweet finish that ground the whole thing and give it serious longevity. Vibe score readin’ citrus, fresh spicy, aromatic, woody — this a complex, multi-layered fragrance, the type that keep evolving on your skin for hours. Not somethin’ simple, this a real journey of a scent. Amouage stay operatin’ at that top tier niche level, they use serious quality raw materials and it show in fragrances like this one. This ain’t your average everyday fragrance, this a real conversation piece. Season — I’m callin’ this one Fall/Winter, that incense, myrrh, and warm spice combo just feel rich and appropriate for colder weather. Price guess — Amouage typically sit in that $300-$400 range, that’s the level this house operate at consistently.” 👇 @chrisdaceo

I feel like some of these Amouage fragrances don’t need Extrait versions. Purpose is super good and Purpose 50 seems redundant. Decision is one of the best and will be hard to top. I do like Reflection 45, Jubliation 40, and interlude 53 however. So I’ll just contradict myself.
Rabbane One Million Black
This one just came in today. If you are a fan of fruity/vanilla scents, then you will like this. They claim is last 48 hours (probably on clothes). It’s loud, playful, and youthful. I’m a big fan of the One Million line and I like this one as well. I heard someone say it was a more ambery take on Lucky. Maybe a little bit. I just get a bunch of sweet fruity notes in front of a lot of woody notes. I do think this will last 10 plus hours on skin.

@Antonio Cent agreed. I really like this one. Lasted all day too.
Sauvage Extrait First Wearing
I picked one of these up today. It’s very different than the EDT, EDP, Parfum, and Elixir. The opening is a blast of smoky woods with some western oud in the background. It remind me of a more wearable Amouage Timber. It projects loud on my skin and I can tell the longevity will be in line with the elixir or even longer. Sample this first, especially if you like sweet scents or were hoping it would smell like the rest of the line. I do really enjoy it though. I’ll give it a bunch more wearings soon.

@Nick Clemente this is an accurate description from how I feel. Personally, I like Elixir more, but I think this one is interesting. It’s definitely a beast. A couple of sprays and you are good all day.

@Nick Clemente I wonder how layering Sauvage Extrait and Sauvage EDT would be?
Just a thought…
I wonder if in a year or two, YSL re-releases La Nuit de L’Homme EDT. If they could bring it back to its original form, that would be amazing. Also seeing they have a new EDP (completely different scent), maybe they would do what Dolce and Gabbana did with The One.

@Antonio Cent we’ll have to watch and see if they slowly deplete the current supply of the EDT.
