My 2031 Vision, written in 2026
I'd love anyone else's feedback on this and what I can add or revise to make it better. [Written with assistance from Claude AI]. The Morning It's September 16th, 2031 — my 55th birthday. I wake up at 5am, fully rested, completely relaxed. A full night's sleep, uninterrupted. Waking up before dawn is effortless now. My eyes just open, and I'm ready. Fifty-five. I'm not dreading it. I'm walking into it like I own it — because I do. The first thing I notice is the feeling. Complete and utter calmness. Peace of mind. I've been chasing this feeling since 1993 — a level of stability and calm I once caught a glimpse of and never forgot. I finally stopped chasing it. Now I just wake up inside it. "I feel in control — not because everything is perfect, but because I built a life that doesn't require me to be at war with it anymore." I no longer feel the stress or dread I felt years ago — that heavy feeling of waking up and immediately thinking about the business, the problems, the fires. That's gone. What replaced it is enthusiasm. I am genuinely excited about the day ahead. I get up quietly, lace up my shoes, and head out for a quick, intense 30-minute walk and sprint — enough to get my heart rate up, burn calories, clear my head. I come back feeling sharp and alive. I am 185 pounds No love handles. No cigarettes — I have been a non-smoker for over five years with no inkling of going back. When stress shows up, I use the gym instead. I train four times a week, stay injury-free because I listen to my body, and I don't compete with the younger men in the gym. I work out for longevity, not ego or vanity. I stay fit because I want to be self-sufficient in my 80s and 90s. I will not be a burden to Laura, my daughters, or my grandchildren. I want to spend the last years of my life enjoying my family — not having them take care of me. "I no longer look in the mirror in disappointment. I feel proud of the work I put in — and it shows." After my workout, I pour my coffee, mix my creatine, eat a clean breakfast. Then I sit down and write. This is sacred time — the part of the day that belongs entirely to me before I belong to anything else. I'm mapping the optimum scene for my life — where the family is headed, where the business is going, how to make both more stable and unshakable. I write about my employees. About people I want to help — friends, family, maybe other contractors who are right now where I was in 2026, grinding alone, wondering if it ever gets better. After writing, I read something that challenges me and makes me think bigger. By the time the world wakes up, I am already full.

Hi, josh. I signed up for this when you first mentioned it at the first meeting. I only got two repsonses out of 15. I think people I sent it to might have thought it was a phishing attempt with the clickable link. Should I pivot and request via regular email? Or not take too much time and move on to the other steps?
My Story
Efrain Medina – My Story / Primary Aim (Written on May 10th, 2026) Today is Saturday, May 10th, 2031. It is a beautiful spring morning. I am grateful, and I feel at peace. I am grateful to God for all He has given me. Today is Mother's Day in Mexico; I will call my mom to congratulate her and tell her that I love her. My mother still lives in the village where I was born. Here at our ranch in Issaquah, my son, Efraín, is about to go to school. Efraín is fully recovered, strong, and healthy. He is happy living on the ranch and spending time with his friends. He continues to play sports and loves to go outside. Juliana, my daughter, is happy with her work and lifestyle. Juliana enjoys traveling; this summer, she will be traveling through Europe, something she has been planning for two years now. Brenda, my wife, and I love the peace of mind we have today. Since we moved, we have embraced a healthier lifestyle; we eat cleaner and exercise constantly. I weigh 210 pounds and feel strong—as if I were 30 years old and not the 50 that I am! I am proud of the business we have built and the caliber of people we have on our team. This year, our goal is to surpass $3M in production with a net margin of 17%. After Q1, we are a little ahead of our numbers. Another thing that fills me with pride is my new venture, which has been growing for two years. It has already reached 50 contractors whom I have been able to help with their businesses. This business focuses on consulting and coaching for small businesses. The cost is low because I do it not for monetary gain, but out of gratitude to those who helped me when I was a novice in business matters. Last January, for my birthday, I fulfilled a dream: buying a Porsche convertible. Now that it is spring, we have used it a couple of times, but in a few weeks, we will be enjoying the car even more. This summer, we will visit my brothers and mom in Jalisco. Also, we will be looking at condos in Puerto Vallarta with the intention of buying one. We want it to be beautiful, centrally located,

Same here, @Abad Gomez Jr : unprepared Too many things to handle in business instead of sitting down to go over these important steps @Josh Abramson is trying to teach us.

@Josh Abramson thanks for your honest reply. You're right, I have to make time, or else I'll be in the same boat 5 years from now.
Accountability Partner
If you want help staying accountable to your goals, start with a short commitment window. That makes it easier for both people to say yes and stay consistent. If it’s working well, you can always continue together afterward. Your challenge: Reach out to someone before the end of this week. A phone call is best, but here’s a simple text/email you can use, but customize the bracketed parts first: “Hey [Name], I’m working through an [8-week] plan on something I genuinely want to finish. I thought of you because I respect you. Would you be open to doing a quick 15-minute accountability call with me once a week for the next [8] weeks? You’d only need to ask me 3 questions: 1. What did I learn this week? 2. Did I do what I said I would do? 3. What am I committing to next? Are you in?” If you don’t have someone in mind yet, but want to commit to the process, comment “OPEN” below, and we’ll pair you with someone else in this community doing the same work.
