Your Instagram posts might already be showing up on Google. 😮 (Okay I guess it's an older update, but I didn't know and wanted to share. 😂) Since mid 2025, Google (and Bing, and DuckDuckGo) started indexing public posts from professional accounts. Reels, carousels, photos, captions, alt text, all of it. Which means someone could Google a random question and your post shows up right there in the results. Outside the app. Without them even having Instagram open. Wild, right? 👀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂: 📝 Your captions are basically SEO copy now. Google reads them the same way it reads a blog post, so clear, keyword-rich writing matters more than ever. #️⃣ Hashtags belong in your caption, not your first comment. This one trips people up because "clean caption energy" has been the trend for a while now. But if you want that post to get picked up outside the app too, the hashtags need to live in the caption itself. 🔒 You can opt out if you want to. There's a setting for it if you or a client would rather stay app-only. The takeaway. Every caption you write is doing double duty now. It's talking to your followers AND to Google.
