I was at this show seated at the table with Shawn’s Mom, his wife Liz and his Grandmother. It was phenomenal. The 2nd version of West Side Boogie was shared with my FB friend Ray Gomez, who became an instant fan. RIP Ray. Shawn loved your work.

@Jimmy Hudson When Shawn took his rig to Peavey, they determined that the Holmes head was basically a power amp. His distortion was the handy work of the Westbury Tube pedal. Back in his days with The Willys he would use at least 2 DD-3 or DD-2 delays depending on how many amps he was using. When I first met him, he didn’t have delay pedals so he ran the reverb on the Holmes wide open. During the Black Oak days he used a parametric equalizer, Crown DC power amp and a Mitchell 2x12 cabinet. But he was never totally happy with amps until Bob Gjika’s amps came around. When he first got a hold of one (actually I think it was the prototype) he fell in love. He used to say it had that Gibbons “Rio Grande” roar. He went through several guitar companies, Washburn, Ibanez, and Jackson but when he got the Vigier, that was it.
