**Workout** Today I was in the hotel with nothing but dumbbells, and I spent the first few minutes looking for excuses to skip it. Forced myself to do something instead. Mimicked the tonal workouts with dumbbells as best I could and knocked out a quick 20 minutes — definitely felt the burn in the arms. Better to do something than nothing. **Lacrosse Culture Statement** I've been working the culture statement 1-on-1 with folks, gathering feedback before I take it to the board. That led me to a youth volunteer coach — a dad who coaches 8U/10U. I'd never met him; someone suggested I should. Turns out he's a career player, including at the collegiate level. Once I showed him my drafts and where I'm trying to take the culture statements, he was all in and gave a ton of positive feedback. He's also massively invested in the history of lacrosse and started data dumping on me. It was fascinating — I hadn't looked any of this up yet. He walked me through the history and how it's an honor that the part of Pennsylvania we live in sits right in the heart of the Indigenous nations that originated the sport. Our school district is literally Seneca Valley. He had tons of ideas from things he's done in the past to help the kids really embrace belonging. One that stuck with me: putting shooting string bracelets on all the kids at the start of the season and having them leave them on all season — a visible sign of belonging to the tribe, the sport, and each other. We're now going to join forces and work on this together. **Next Steps** I'm reviewing a series of history videos he shared, then revisiting the culture statement to make sure it aligns with that history. On his first review, he said he really liked the short one-line statement. He's on board to help educate the entire board and coaching staff on our culture once we've got it dialed in, and to run culture and morale camps with all the coaches and kids. We had a 45-minute call and it was all extremely high energy. Looking forward to working through the challenges of getting this rolled out.
