Hey fellas looking for some feedback
I will be launching a forestry mulching specific company with a new 275xe and a fecon head. I filed my LLC with the state and got my EIN. I created my Facebook page and also did my Google account. Soon I’ll be renting a skid steer from cat to take to my buddies property to mulch so I can make content and make videos for my pages. I have a 2022 Chevy 2500 dmax. It is paid off and I am looking for trailer ideas. I DON’T have a flat bed so I am worried about having space on a tandem 10k axle bumper pull trailer. I would like to have a job box for spare parts and maintenance items. Also store a grapple bucket. My truck is setup for a gooseneck as well I know the ride quality is better and I would have more space but is it really necessary? I have a class A CDL. Any input on what I should be doing from now until January when I start scheduling jobs for February would be appreciated and any input on the trailer setup I should go with would also help.

Gatormade is solid. I run a dual 8k axle that was updated to 17.5k GVRW. Does fine with my 265 XPS, shearex HM-60SR and root grapple. I think Gatormade has moved toward three 7k axles vs 2 8k axles, but seems like that would be even better weight wise. Don't know about any practical issues the three axle thing might cause.
What's your hourly goal?
Currently doing my first job, and learning I didn't price it high enough lol. Learning is never free tho so it's fine, I'll still make a decent little chunk. My question it, after machine depreciation, attachment depreciation, fuel, consumables, insurance, etc., what is your goal for profit for your time in the seat per hour? My guess is I'll end up in the $180-$200/hr range on this job. Many thanks to all who reply.
Booked my first job! $8800
Meant to post this earlier. Clearing edges of a field for a client. Probably little under 3 acres of work. Did offer a 20% promotional discount as an enticement, but still shout net very adequate hourly profit for getting a 5 star review and some B reel for FB ads.
