Client friction and a prospects hessitation?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - I hope you're doing well 🙂 When working directly for clients, where do they usually create the most friction during a project? Also... What’s the biggest reason a good prospect doesn’t buy after you've had a call with them? Is it price or your availability, or something else? Many thanks!

EU AI disclosure icons?
Hi @Hugo Barbera I hope youre well! What’s your take on the EU’s new AI content disclosure requirements, including its proposed AI disclosure icon? As you’re based in Spain, I’d be really interested to know how this is being understood by people working commercially with AI imagery. Do you think clients will actually use the icon or another form of disclosure, and how do you see it affecting the kind of work we create? Many thanks! P.S. Here's the link to the full AI act rules for anyone else reading this.

Thanks @Hugo Barbera that’s really helpful. It sounds like disclosure won’t stop clients using AI when they have a good reason to choose it. It might even filter out clients who want the benefits of AI but feel they need to hide it. The machine-readable marking is the part I’m most curious about too, especially once an image has been through Photoshop, retouching and export. Thanks for sharing your view... very reassuring.

Hi @Hugo Barbera - will you be updating your contract and AI Survival Guide to cover AI disclosure and clarify who is responsible for it? My assumption is that the creator should be open about how the work was produced, while the client is responsible for adding any required badge or text disclosure when they publish the images. Is that how you see it working, or do you think creators will also need to take further steps before delivery? Many thanks!

Client approvals?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - when working directly with a client, do you give them a set period to review and approve the completed work before issuing the final 20% invoice? I’m also curious how you handle it if they take longer to respond, or use both revision rounds but still do not formally approve the work. Many thanks!

What causes the most scope creep?
Hi @Hugo Barbera what are the most common forms of scope creep in commercial AI image projects? Which requests tend to look small at first but end up consuming a disproportionate amount of time? Thanks!

@Hugo Barbera where do clients usually try to push beyond the scope you defined? I imagine you’re very strict, but do they ever try to get more from you than you quoted on, without paying anything extra?

What's our real moat?
Hi @Hugo Barbera - we all know that anyone will eventually be able to produce a good-looking image with AI. Beyond the taste and judgement we bring, where do you think our real moat is? Is it our ability to explain: - why the image should exist - why it's right for this audience - why it could not belong to a competitor - why the product belongs in that world - and why the client should approve it? In other words, is the value increasingly less about making the image and more about the thinking that makes the image strategically right? Have I missed anything? Cheers!

Cheers @Hugo Barbera you're absolutely right, anyone can create a good-looking image right now. That's a good analogy! If you don't yet have a reputation, how else can you make a client feel that an AI image director is the safest choice before they have worked with them? I image the AI Survival Guide a plays a big part in this. Do process, contracts, AI report, product-accuracy checks and presentation make a difference without reputation?
