Totes vs Trash Cans
Have you guys found Sam’s method to be genuinely faster? I have gotten very frustrated this past week trying to reassemble customer lights exactly as they were before. I had techs use pretty thorough zip tie systems for organizing what goes where…. Has not worked well any year that I’ve been in business.

@Phillip Herrejon 8% adds up. Also faster on takedowns and don’t have to sort through storage. If you consider everything, I’m sure you are saving a dozen hours a week for one person. Across organizing and sorting through totes and everything

@Sam Elsts I figured you would since you’re the one I got the idea from! I think I will be doing it next year. When I setup takedowns, we’ll take them down in a way that gets us readyv
Snow Removal/Salting
I live in North Alabama. We get a lot of snow maybe 2 weeks a year? Nothing crazy. I know it would not be worth investing in plows and stuff, but I’ve seen a few guys locally operating the service. Do you think it would be worth incorporating for just 1-2weeks of extra work? I’m not sure what sorts of pricing you can charge per man hour or what the margins tend to be. I would love to be able to profit a little in the off season. With my current setup I am almost break even in January and February.

@Sam Elsts don’t think anyone in my area would do a contract for it due to how infrequent snow is…. Maybe we will do this next year, I don’t know yet
Takedown Process
I’m looking to create an SOP on christmas light takedowns and checklist for my guys. What do you guys do?

Heck yeah!!!
Price/Foot
What are you guys charging? This is my third year, but the first year I’ve had a team and done decent numbers. I used to think people who charged $8+ a foot were foolish. Now I’m calculating $8/foot to put us at about 18% profit. Feel like we need to be charging $10. What do you guys charge?
