Jaguar XJ6 2008 Cluster problems
Got a Jaguar XJ6 here with an intermittent sticking needle problem. Anyone know how these needles go in and out? Tried to remove the first one based off a similar YouTube video and I appear to have pulled the shaft out as well as the needle and now can’t realign it, don’t want to do the same to the rest. Hoping someone has some tips, TIA

Short/Open finder recommendations?
What are people using? Seen the power probe stuff and also some of the other open finders aimed at other industries. Just looking for peoples thoughts and recommendations, thanks.

@Robert Shervill yeah I’ve heard mixed bags that unless it’s a complete open circuit then the signal will bypass high resistance and won’t show you the spot Just wanted peoples thoughts

Had a transit door loom today and the entire loom is black, and most of the wires already split, the answer was no 😂

@Robert Shervill yes definitely done so in the past when it’s been one or two wires. Emphasis on telling the customer it’s temporary lol. Yes I will be there, cheers!

Importance of load testing!
Not strictly automotive but relevant. Called out to take a look at a solar setup after their ‘electrician’ had condemned and replaced the charge controller and still had the same issue. ‘You can see voltage with the meter so what’s the problem’ Yeahhh that’s the problem.
