How do I sync files privately?
Are you tired of relying on big tech clouds for your personal data? In my latest video, I walk you through a complete, self-hosted solution for file synchronization that keeps your data private and under your control. This tutorial is designed for beginners but covers everything you need to know to sync files across Ubuntu, Windows, and Android devices seamlessly. 🎥 What You’ll Learn in This Video We break down the entire setup process into clear, manageable steps: - Getting Started: How to download and prepare a bootable Ubuntu flash drive. - Ubuntu Setup: A step-by-step guide to installing Ubuntu and configuring Syncthing for file syncing. - Windows Integration: Installing and setting up Syncthing on Windows to sync with your Linux machine. - Mobile Sync: An overview of mobile Syncthing clients and a specific configuration guide for Android. - Network Security: How to use Netbird to securely connect your Ubuntu and Android devices over the internet without exposing them publicly. - Live Testing: Real-time folder sharing and synchronization tests to prove it all works. 🛠️ The Tech Stack - OS: Ubuntu & Windows - Sync Tool: Syncthing (Open-source, decentralized) - Network Tool: Netbird (For secure, private connections) Whether you want to replace Google Drive, back up your Android photos to your PC, or simply learn how to manage your own data infrastructure, this video has you covered. You can find the video in the classroom section. Have fun ;)

@Karol Szykula This is exactly what I needed! Thank you for creating this valuable resource. Now I just need to find the time to sit down and implement this. My goal is to sync my media files across multiple computers so I can edit videos from anywhere. I will keep you updated if I run into any problems.
Fixed my email!
This may be super easy for everyone in here but it was a big accomplishment for me today. I have my own email linked to my personal domain. I wanted to be able to respond to customers using the gmail app on my phone. The problem was that all of my other emails ([email protected] for example) were not properly sending emails. They were able to receive, but if i replied it went into a "queued" status. The fix was to reenter all of my smtp info and resync with the gmail app. Everything is working great now. I love being able to fix a technical challenge that i have no background info for.

Actually, I think namecheap is my domain provider. Hostinger is everything else? I am just tech savy enough to get these things working haha.

How I added additional disks in Proxmox
Hello engineers, I recently configured my Proxmox instance with ZFS RAID1 (I need to test the recovery process :)). I then added three additional SSD disks and partitioned them with this command: mkfs.ext4 -L SSD-256GB /dev/sdX - -L: label flag - SSD-256GB: label (adjust for each disk, e.g., SSD-1TB, SSD-128GB) After that, I mounted them via /etc/fstab like this: UUID=4c1cebaf-8142-4b79-a0ea-45c26253ed75 /media/ssd-1-TB ext4 defaults, noatime, nofail 0 2UUID=b012b34c-bb86-408a-bebf-a91d1a1d3a49 /media/ssd-256-GB ext4 defaults, noatime, nofail 0 2UUID=55c39d33-8665-4ba6-9b45-1c513df36296 /media/ssd-128-GB ext4 defaults, noatime, nofail 0 2 Now I have three extra disks for playing around with :) Let me know how you use additional disks in Proxmox.
