@Joe Bennett Yes, I like to believe that she escaped to Japan after suffering so much in China :) Some later legends say she turned into a 9 tailed fox! That is likely because femme fatale's and 9 tailed foxes are similarly portrayed. She was too beautiful for her own good. She was owned; used; cherished; adored; and then sacrified 'to save the nation' because certain factions didn't like how much the emperor doted on her. It stirs up deep past life-ancestral-ancient memories and sadness for me. So that's why I like to think she did escape to Japan where she lived a happy beautiful rest of her life secretly!

@Joe Bennett A healed and conscious culture can tolerate beauty without needing to own it or be jealous of it. The human race is still evolving. But there is hope! And worldly-wise, though we start actions from ignorance, we eventually learn lessons.

🎧 Shadowing — A Key to Becoming Fluent
こんにちは!Konnichiwa!! 🙇‍♂️ Today’s focus is one of the most powerful techniques in language learning: Shadowing. 🧠 What is Shadowing? Shadowing =👉 Listening and speaking at the same time 👉 Like an echo, just behind the speaker (as close to matching the speaker as you can get). Not: ❌ memorising ❌ translating ❌ repeating after a pause It’s about flow, rhythm, and natural speech. 🎯 Why Shadowing Works If you want to sound natural in Japanese, you need to train: - 👂 your ears (listening speed) - 🗣️ your mouth (pronunciation) - 🎵 your rhythm (VERY important in Japanese) Shadowing trains all three at once. 🪜 How to Do Shadowing (Beginner Method) Step 1: Understand first Read the script. Know the meaning. 👉 If you don’t understand it, it’s just noise. Step 2: Listen only Just listen 1–2 times. Focus on rhythm and sound. Step 3: Mumble shadowing Speak quietly, slightly behind the audio. Don’t worry about being perfect. Step 4: Full shadowing Speak clearly with the audio. Match: - speed - rhythm - tone Step 5: Say it alone Turn off the audio. Say it yourself. 💥 This is where fluency builds. ⚠️ Important Rules 👉 Don’t stop, even if you miss words 👉 Don’t aim for perfect — aim for flow 👉 Short chunks are better than long passages 🔥 Example (Try This) 先週の土曜日、友だちと映画を見に行きました。 せんしゅうのどようび、ともだちとえいがをみにいきました。 Senshuu no doyoubi, tomodachi to eiga o mi ni ikimashita. (Last Saturday, I went to see a movie with a friend.) 💬 Your Turn Try the sentence using the audio attached and tell me how it felt! Let’s build fluency step by step 💪 Arigatou, 🙇‍♂️ Joe Sensei.

I tried the sample in the main post! Question: Why is the "i" in tomodachi silent? Also wow! That is challenging to say as fast as the recording, but I will keep practicing! Also, I'm noticing subtle things like the pronunciation of both the "o" and the "u" after the "b" in doyoubi.
