Shadowing =👉 Listening and speaking at the same time 👉 Like an echo, just behind the speaker (as close to matching the speaker as you can get). Not: ❌ memorising ❌ translating ❌ repeating after a pause It’s about flow, rhythm, and natural speech. 🎯 Why Shadowing Works If you want to sound natural in Japanese, you need to train: - 👂 your ears (listening speed) - 🗣️ your mouth (pronunciation) - 🎵 your rhythm (VERY important in Japanese) Shadowing trains all three at once. 🪜 How to Do Shadowing (Beginner Method) Step 1: Understand first Read the script. Know the meaning. 👉 If you don’t understand it, it’s just noise. Step 2: Listen only Just listen 1–2 times. Focus on rhythm and sound. Step 3: Mumble shadowing Speak quietly, slightly behind the audio. Don’t worry about being perfect. Step 4: Full shadowing Speak clearly with the audio.
