Playing as Random has it's advantage(s). Two "basic" advantages ("1", and "1a" if you will) are that, the opponent doesn't know your race and is more or less forced to send a worker "xmap" early to scout, and find out what race you spawned as. But also, the matchups can be more interesting in the sense that your hero selection and strategy choice have a larger "Punnett Square." This post shows a "Punnett Square" decision tree for playing as Random in 1v1 strategies*. *Regardless of Map* Note: this "Punnett Square" is probably 'off-meta' in comparison to "High Level Professional Play." If you are playing in the competitive Warcraft III scene, you should probably generate your own version of this, OR already have done so in your own "Neocortex." (And it probably factors in Map Pool.) Regardless, let's have fun with this; comment below your own "Punnett Square" & ideas --whether you play as Random or your decision tree as Selected Race: (Human, Orc, Undead, Night Elf) [X-Axis] versus your opponent's potential races (Human, Orc, Undead, Night Elf, RANDOM)[Y-Axis] . This way we can introduce a solid argument and study for "Meta!"
