Should you do inner work during grief?
In November of last year, I walked away from a near 20-year relationship with an NPD. Learning about narcissistic abuse is what led me to Aaron's platform. Ready to rebuild myself and my life, I started the High Vibe 101 this week. It began great. I went alcohol free and begun all the homework. I was feeling excited about the future. Then I found lumps in my dog's neck. I took him to the vet. The vet said they are tumors and they have to be removed. While waiting for the surgery appointment, the tumors have grown and spread. He can no longer swallow or close his mouth. I'm trying to be positive, but it is not looking good. He has been my buddy through the toxic relationship and my divorce. Thinking of losing him right now is devastating. I fell of my alcohol-free plan and stopped the lessons. He has surgery tomorrow and we are praying for a miracle. But if he doesn't make it, is it healthy or possible to try to shift into a new version of yourself when you vibrating at a grief level? Should one process the grief first and then start again? I'd like to hear others' experiences with this.

@Charles Stasko I'm sorry for the delayed reply. I just saw this comment and it came at the right moment. I did lose my dog after cancer brutally destroyed his body. It was heartwrenching. The grief was all intermixed with the toxic ex. Somehow, I made it through. I'm still healing, but I finally feel the sun coming out. I love your idea about focusing on not losing a level instead of pushing yourself. Also, that when we know we have progressed in the past, we have proof that we can do it again and it will be easier. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom. It is so helpful.

@Anna Burton Sorry for the late reply. I had to drop everything for a while as my dog did have to be put to rest. The cancer journey with him was awful, but there were beautiful moments of such love and connection with others along the way. I admire your commitment. Sometimes it feels like we have to do some huge life overhaul or run off to an ashram to change our lives, but little steps every day accumulate. I'm trying to listen and watch videos first thing in the morning to set the tone for the day. In the midst of the grief, I have become more compassionate with others and myself. I also care less what toxic people think. You're right. They are magically sloughing off my life (clients of mine too lol). Thanks for all the suggestions. Sending you love!
