Some people come alive when everyone’s attention is on them. Others would much rather work behind the scenes. And then there are those who love being recognized for their work but don’t necessarily want to be the center of attention! 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭?

I would say I’m a little bit of both! As an entrepreneur, author, and community leader, I enjoy sharing my knowledge, encouraging others, and making a positive impact. However, I don’t necessarily need to be the center of attention. I also love my quiet time, privacy, and working behind the scenes. For me, it’s more about making a meaningful difference than being recognized!
🙋‍♀️ You Don’t Have to Be in the Spotlight to Be Seen!
One of my favourite things about Skool is that you don’t have to create a single post to start building relationships and becoming more visible! You can do it in the comments. 💗 Every time you leave a thoughtful comment, you’re doing several things at once: ✨ Supporting the person who wrote the post (or the comment you’re replying to). ✨ Giving other members an opportunity to get to know you, your perspective and your expertise. ✨ Creating another opportunity for someone to discover you through Skool’s searchable conversations. And unlike a conversation that disappears when everyone leaves the room, those comments can continue introducing you to people long after you’ve written them! In public communities like KPP, those conversations can also be discovered by people who haven’t joined yet. That’s evergreen visibility! Here’s something you might not know! Click on someone’s Skool profile and you can explore their posts and comments by community. You need to be a member to see their activity inside private communities, but their activity in public communities like KPP is visible to other Skool members, whether they’ve joined KPP or not. Think about that the next time you’re wondering whether it’s worth leaving a thoughtful comment! And this is what I love most: We’re building a network of Christian business owners who know, love and trust each other. We can’t build that kind of network by simply joining a community and waiting for people to notice us. We actually have to get to know each other! So I’d love to encourage you to comment generously. Not just on my posts. Not just when someone asks a question you can answer in one sentence. Explore the conversations happening here. Reply to other members. Ask follow-up questions. Share your experience. Encourage someone. Add something useful. And don’t forget to reply to other members in the comments, too! Some of the best conversations happen underneath the original post and don’t even involve the original poster!

@Lisa Vanderveen I absolutely love this perspective! As a community founder, I’ve learned that meaningful engagement is just as important as creating content. Sometimes the most valuable connections happen through a simple, thoughtful comment! I enjoy reading people’s perspectives and getting to know them through conversations. I haven’t explored the profile comment feature much, but I’ll definitely be more intentional about using it. Building genuine relationships and supporting one another is what makes a community truly valuable!
😍 The Easiest Money I Ever Made Came From Relationships, Not Advertising!
When I started my first online business in 2016, I discovered something that has shaped the way I’ve approached business ever since. Some of my best opportunities came from relationships I’d built simply by showing up and connecting with people! I was super active in the Facebook group my business coach had created for our coaching community. I participated in conversations, got to know people and became a familiar face. And one day, my coach approached ME. She wanted to know if I’d be interested in managing her Facebook community! That one opportunity grew into managing TWO communities, her Facebook page AND transcribing all of her class videos! I hadn’t advertised for any of it. She already knew me as a client but it was how I participated that opened the door to her paying me! And that wasn’t the only time this happened! My VA mentor was looking for a graphic designer. When I heard about it, I offered to do my best. She hired me! And that turned into TWO YEARS of ongoing work together. Again, I hadn’t been advertising my services to her. We already had a relationship. Looking back, the majority of clients I’ve worked with have come through relationships I built through networking and connection. And some of the easiest money I’ve ever made came through those relationships! That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about what we’re building here in Kingdom Peace & Prosperity. 💗 Imagine being part of a network where people already know you, recognize your name, appreciate your contributions and think of you when an opportunity comes along. Where referrals, collaborations and opportunities can grow naturally because you’ve taken the time to build genuine relationships. Where you don’t have to introduce yourself as a complete stranger every time you have something to offer. That’s the kind of network I want us to build together! And it starts with something as simple as joining a conversation. You never know which relationship might become a friendship, a collaboration, a referral or even your next client.

@Lisa Vanderveen I absolutely love this! You’ve shared such a powerful reminder that genuine relationships can open doors that advertising alone cannot. As an entrepreneur and community founder, I’m learning the importance of building meaningful connections instead of constantly focusing on promoting my offers. People are more likely to support, collaborate with, and recommend someone they know and trust. I believe God can open incredible doors through the right relationships and connections. This is exactly the kind of community I’m excited to be part of!
😍 We Can Disagree Without Ruining the Whole Day! 💗
There was a time when a difficult conversation with my hubby could disrupt my entire day. I’d get offended. I’d defend myself. I’d try so hard to explain what I meant and convince him to understand my perspective. And when I couldn’t get him to see things the way I did, I’d get frustrated and pull away. Sometimes I’d carry those feelings around for days. I loved my hubby, but I didn’t know how to disagree without letting it affect how I felt about him and our relationship. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚. We still disagree. 😂 But something has changed in me. I can hear his perspective without feeling like I have to agree with it, defend myself against it or change his mind. I can tell him the truth and let him decide what he believes. And when we have a difficult conversation, I don’t have to carry the offense around for the rest of the day. I can move on and enjoy being with him. That’s HUGE for me! And it didn’t happen overnight. For years, I’ve been working with Holy Spirit through layers of hurt, offense, stubbornness and the need to be understood. Some of those layers took a lot of work. Others shifted a little at a time. I can’t point to one session when everything changed. But as I worked through my Quiet Times this week, I realized how much healing has already happened. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥. I don’t need to convince someone to believe me in order to trust myself. And I don’t need to take responsibility for how someone else chooses to respond. That freedom has changed the way I show up in my marriage. And I’m recognizing how important those same things are in business leadership. Being able to receive feedback, make decisions, hold boundaries and navigate disagreements without losing my peace makes room for healthier relationships and clearer leadership. I think of that line from 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻. 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙃𝙞𝙢. That’s how I feel about the work Holy Spirit has been doing in me.

This is such a beautiful testimony of healing and growth! I can definitely relate to looking back and realizing that things that once hurt me or disturbed my peace no longer have the same power over me. What helped me recognize that change was realizing I no longer needed everyone’s approval, understanding, or agreement to feel secure in who I am. My identity is rooted in Jesus Christ, not people’s opinions. There’s so much freedom in learning to disagree without becoming offended or losing your peace. I love how the Holy Spirit continues to transform us from the inside out!
🙋‍♀️ I Used to Get So Angry When My Coach Challenged Me!
Not because she was being unkind or disrespectful. But because I had spent so much time thinking, studying and working through something that I was convinced I was right. And when she challenged the way I saw things, I felt like I had to defend myself. Looking back, I can see something I didn't understand at the time. 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙. And that made it really hard to receive the very feedback I was paying her to give me! 😂 This came up in my Quiet Time this week when I was reflecting on Stubborn ~> Teachable. Stubbornness used to come up again and again in my personal healing work with Holy Spirit. Not just once. Over and over. And each time, something shifted a little. I can't point to one moment when everything changed. It's been years of peeling away those layers. But here's what struck me this week: I don't feel stubborn anymore. When my coach points something out now, I'm genuinely interested in considering it. Sometimes I agree immediately. Sometimes I push back. But even when I disagree, I'm willing to sit with what she's saying and ask myself whether she's seeing something I'm missing. I trust her to help me see my blind spots. And I no longer need her to agree with me to feel respected. One of the declarations I wrote in my journal this week was... 💗 I am respected because I am teachable. I love that! Because being teachable doesn't mean I have to agree with everyone or abandon what I believe. It means I can listen, consider another perspective and still make my own decisions. I'm curious about something... Have you ever received feedback that you resisted at first, but later realized was exactly what you needed to hear? What helped you become open to considering it?

@Lisa Vanderveen I love this reflection! I’ve definitely experienced moments when feedback was difficult to receive because I felt misunderstood. Over time, I’ve learned that correction doesn’t always mean criticism, and disagreement doesn’t mean disrespect. What helped me was becoming more secure in my identity in Jesus Christ and realizing I don’t have to defend myself against every different perspective. Sometimes God uses others to reveal areas where we still need to grow. Being teachable is such a beautiful sign of maturity!
