There’s something burning in my mind, day and night: The Space Left Behind, a short film based on a story by Clarice Lispector, set in present-day Los Angeles. It’s a woman-centered psychological drama with the depth, intuition, and rich inner life that draw me to Clarice’s writing. Between casting, putting a team together, figuring out the budget, and all the other pre-production pieces, my brain apparently thinks sleep is optional!
