Owning a 3PL allows to you to have a bigger picture of the complete supply chain. Providing our Clients (Shippers) with both Packing Protection and Transportation Services for their items allows us to create the optimal solution for their shipments. This printer and its peripherals we custom crated and packed, knowing we could best transport this in a cargo van, so we designed the wood pallet long and put the forklift entry on the width. This allows us to load and unload easily with a forklift into and out of any cargo van wheel well width. (Would not work if we made entry on the length) Also notice the reinforced 2x6 slats of our pallet base. When using forklift extensions to load and unload the weight gets distributed to the end tip so your pallet base needs to be solid. Not only is the base nailed together (ring shaft) but also each slat is screwed in. Understanding the entire process from packing to shipping to receiving for our clients is the key to successful distribution. Everyone have a freight day. #papafreight

Sometimes I’ll work with other Owner Operators who help me speed up my deliveries/installs on certain days. Today I got the Assistance from Leonard Mosley of Apex Express down here in Louisiana. I post a lot of content primarily photos of work we do on social media. Lately I have increasingly seen images of our warehouses, crating, equipment being used by others. Primarily foreigners trying to get business as brokers or dispatchers etc. This is a post by a dispatcher that I don’t know, using a picture that was taken by me in my warehouse. If they are willing to advertise stealing other people’s photos. I don’t think they will have a problem with stealing your money. #papafreight

Everyone has to start somewhere! Starting a Freight Logistics business from nothing whether that’s a Carrier, Broker or another link in the supply chain like warehousing is not easy. I just started advertising my newly formed Gateway Crate and Freight business when I got my first Crating order back in 2012 from a mining company needing 30 crates. I had only a few tools and my past industry experience. Like many Entrepreneurs I had to find a way to fulfill this order for my first client! I threw a pizza party for a bunch of my friends at my house who came over and helped me build all these crates in my garage! I’m sure you have read about the companies that started with pizza and friends in a garage: Microsoft Apple Amazon And Gateway Crate and Freight Here are pics of us working on that first order in my garage. Recently a web hosting data center here in Phoenix announced closing their doors. Different companies who owned equipment in this center needed their equipment taken out and moved to a new hosting center. This one needed to go from Arizona to New Jersey. These servers host “live data” and the companies web systems are down during this time so transport speed is of the utmost importance. But again protecting all the info in these servers was paramount. ESD bagging is essential to protect live data (Pink Bags). We bagged each server then protected them from shifting with blocks of PE Foam, crated and secured the contents. Expedited this crate to its destination and the company was back up online in a matter of days. Website down? Maybe it’s because the company was forced to move its data servers to the other side of the country. We got it done, safely, securely and fast. Everyone have a Freight Day. #papafreight
