Bullying is not new, if anything it is the worst it’s ever been. And I blame it on lack of parenting and how parents show up. How to support a young teen son going through this experience and balance his own self confidence and reactions while being true to the kind and high value, Christian kid he is, is hard. There isn’t a roadmap in this chaos, and it’s hard.

My church youth pastor saved me. I was in high school and mentally in a very dark place. I did something stupid on a youth group trip without regard for my own life or dangerous consequences and I said it didn’t matter. He replied, I care, and it does to me and it does to God. That forever changed me and my outlook and perspective on life.

Love this question and certainly makes you look at yourself through a different lens! I’m cheating, I can’t pick only one. I love my deep Faith, Discipline and Growth Mindset. I feel grateful to have these every single day. Life is never boring and there is always something to explore and learn. Makes me see the opportunity in things even when glass seems half empty. Always ready for what God presents as my path.

Having Faith…it can carry you through anything. Faith helps you find the courage…. To take the hard scary next step, to find your voice, to have that hard conversation, to stand behind your values and beliefs. And through it all, God is beside us. He’s there even when we don’t see it.
