You and the Goose
I’m sure you’ve heard the story about the goose that produces golden eggs. As a business owner, your job is to protect the goose while finding ways to help it produce eggs, faster. Most of your employees will not care how important their role is in this process. They will sit around on company time, take extra days off and expect to be paid for them, by the most expensive gas because there’s a nicer bathroom at that gas station, give extra services for free because they may get a better tip, take 30 minute bathroom, breaks repeatedly, steal office supplies, use your company vehicle for personal reasons, lose things or break things. And there’s so many more. All of these things are small attempts to steal more eggs from the goose. But if you kill the goose, there are no stack of eggs inside. It’s the goose producing the eggs to get that gets everyone what they want. When you get ahead of production and people start getting greedy that’s bad for the goose. When everyone is working in sync, and you have a culture of people, hustling and producing, that’s great for the goose. Holding your standards and not allowing employees to walk all over you is like building a fence around your goose to protect it from being battered and strangled and shaken by employees that don’t really care what happens to the goose as long as they get their egg. Protect your goose! And don’t feel bad for holding standards if employees don’t agree with them.

Rainy day Services
Rainy days are a great example of a service day that gets cut out of your month. And every day you lose production is the day you either have to make up on a Saturday or you just pull in less money. Do you have a plan for rainy days? Do you have a script for your team to follow? Do You have different products that you might use for a different mix to count for the extra water? Maybe a different solution or equipment? Are your customers expecting that you still do Services in the rain? Are rainy days, the only type of day that shuts down production? Spin it to win it Hey Mr. Customer, thanks for your concern. You’re actually one of the lucky ones because not very many people get our rainy day service. When we treat on a regular service, we spray liquid across the top of everything, but it doesn’t penetrate through the gravel and the grass. We have water activated granules that we can use through the entire yard to get a whole different level of penetration that most people won’t get unless they get a rainy day service. Plus this product is water activated so we can’t use it throughout the yard unless it’s raining. We’re still gonna treat under the eaves where it’s nice and dry with the liquid and inside the house if you’d like. Do you want me to treat inside today? If you’re struggling, try this script or use it to re-create one of your own. Enjoy the rain!

$100 is waiting for you
This weeks goal is to find $100 by increasing your efficiency. This should take you less than an hour AND it will pay you every month. Here are some examples: - Find a new source for the products you sell - Lower your cost for leads - Negotiate a fee - Find a way to get free shipping/freight - Delegated a task to a lower paid employee or your kids - Leverage automation - Hire through Upwork instead of hiring locally Once you find it, implement it, then put it on the comments! What did you do and how much did you save? I can’t wait to see your answers!

An AI tool for you
Have you ever tried to train a sales rep and you come up with only the same few ideas on what they need to be trained on? It can be hard to really show a training scenario without actually being in a sale. I decided that I want to improve my Sales Inspector’s production. I get the vibe that it’s easy for me to say what to do in trainings because when we train they’re all hypothetical situations and roleplays. But saying the things I say DURING a sale are hard for some people to do. So I decided to PROVE IT… So far, in 63 appointments, I have sold $82,360. My inspectors average 4.5 appointments per day. On 22 working days at this pace, I will have sold $127,400. Bring on the AI: I’ve been wearing this bracelet with an AI voice recorder called Plaud. It records my sales stops, and writes down everything that was said. It gives and executive summary, a full breakdown of the appointment step by step, and it separates who was talking. So it can tell if it was me, the wife, the husband, their kid, etc… What’s next: Once I’m done running a route for 30 days, I will have real, believable results to share with my team about what’s possible. I will have a detailed log of every sale. And I will take all of the transcripts to chatGPT to have it rip down a whole new playbook for my inspectors to train them with. Using my sales word tracks, tactics during the sale, questions that brought value, aces I used to close the sale, and how much time I spent building trust, educating, and closing the customer. This is an unpaid pitch for you to use Plaud to create a real sales manual and duplicate yourself in a way that amplifies your training. Your bank account will thank you 🙏
