The power of video for Google and AI search
For my legal practice, google remains the most coveted real estate for gaining new clients, organically. Traditionally and presently, the main tool generally used for this is website SEO content, and google business profile activity--especially with google reviews. I do both of these, but the time and cost to gain traction on either of these tends to be slow and heavy. I rely heavily on video to try to amplify those tools, but also more quickly penetrate new markets before or sometimes as a substitute for SEO or GBP content. I'm currently in a 1 1/2 week campaign to develop a presence in a new market where I have no existing SEO or GBP content. I began with long form, SEO rich youtube videos, followed by posting those same videos natively to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. I'm genuinely shocked at how heavily google (and the AI models) value and pull from Facebook and Instagram videos, even when I have an identical native YouTube video. I'm seeing great results already in less than 2 weeks and it continues to improve a little each day. I'll be doing an extended article and/or video discussing it once I've completed the initial phase of this campaign.

Should you be everywhere?
I'm in the middle of a targeted campaign to build an audience and awareness for one of my legal niches. I'm typically posting a long form video at least once a week on YouTube, cross-posting that same video in portrait format on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, and then creating shorts and reels from that video and posting on all these same platforms. I find that for reasons not entirely clear to me, one video will do exceptionally well on one of the platforms and only mediocre on the others. And the next video might be the opposite. Collectively, I'm getting tremendous growth and engagement, with Facebook right now being my absolute best place to grow an audience--which is definitely local in focus. I'm now using Claude AI as my main script assistant, Riverside for recording, Opus for creating and publishing shorts/reels, and different programs to assist with thumbnail, title, and description generation. If you guys would like me to do webinar or something breaking down the entire process, let me know.

Simple is the new premium
One of the reasons I named this place Simple Video Systems is that I have found that simplicity beats features almost every time. I'll give some examples. Yesterday I got a chance to drive dump truck in a new location and my target legal market. So getting some footage of that was really appealing to me, so I brought along my Insta 360 X5 and just stuck the camera to various parts of the truck. I didn't have to worry about whether it was pointed in the right direction or lighting. It captures it all and then I can use it later. With respect to the talking head videos, I've gone through all the extremes. I started out recording with just my laptop and a USB blue yeti mic all the way to a Rodecaster and then a Rodecaster video. All kinds of features. But I don't have the time to figure them out or remember them. So I just go with the simple functions. I need to be able to sit down when I have some spare time, turn things on, and record reasonably high quality. Today I'll be trying out a new system that should hopefully re-simplify my process. I'll post more once I have a chance to try it out.

Need a new webcam
Hey guys, I need a new webcam. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

@Sean McClellan have you gotten that webam yet? It's been sitting in my amazon cart, but I'd love to know how you like it. The two big features I'm interested in is the cinematic/blurred background feature, and it's speaker tracking feature. I'd like to see if I can put it on a table where I'm talking to two other people and if it's capable of moving back and forth between the active speakers.

So I've been continuing to research the webcam thing and decided the insta 360 is the right one for me. I purchased the link2 and the insta 360 Wave, which is a conference room speaker/mic. that's cool is that when they are paired, the wave will pick up the direction of the speaker, and then the web cam will automatically rotate to that person. They then feed in together on one cord to your compute. So I plan to use this set up for any multi-person podcasts, especially of 3 or more people, to greatly reduce the equipment and editing required. hopefully it works as advertised, but it checks all the boxes I was looking for and arrives on Tuesday.
Google search videos
I’m currently working on a video and e-book showing how to make videos that show up on the first page of Google for your desired search term(s). Sometimes within hours. Let me know if you’d be interested in advanced access.
