🚀 Government Contracting Is Bigger Than Most People Realize
One of the biggest misconceptions about government contracting is that it's only for large corporations. The truth is...government agencies purchase millions of products and services every single day. Today, Silas shares his perspective on what's really available in government contracting—and why having the right mindset is just as important as learning the process. 💡 Success in government contracting isn't about chasing every opportunity. It's about: ✅ Understanding what your business already offers. ✅ Finding opportunities that align with your capabilities. ✅ Staying consistent even when you don't win the first bid. ✅ Building relationships and learning the process one opportunity at a time. Every contract you review, every capability statement you create, and every conversation you have moves you one step closer to your first award. 🎥 Watch today's video and let us know: What type of government opportunities are you most interested in pursuing? We'd love to hear from you! #GovernmentContracting #SmallBusiness #SAMGov #CapabilityStatement #BusinessGrowth #FederalContracts #StateContracts #LocalGovernment #GovernmentOpportunities #SkoolCommunity

My NAICS code was incorrect and I had to call the IRS they never even sent me a letter to say that it was corrected. I faxed them and emailed them documents to get it changed in the inside on. This will be helpful as to how I can confirm it.

📚 Government Contracting Basics
Understanding the Different Types of Government Opportunities One of the biggest misconceptions in government contracting is that every opportunity is a "grant." The reality is that government agencies use several different methods to purchase products and services, conduct research, and distribute funding. Here's a simple guide to understanding the differences. 💰 What is a Grant? A grant is funding provided to support a public purpose, research project, education, healthcare initiative, nonprofit program, or community service. Unlike a government contract, a grant is not purchasing a product or service for the government's direct use. Grants are commonly awarded by: • Federal Government • State Governments • County Governments • City Governments • Foundations • Private Organizations Examples • Healthcare programs • Community health initiatives • Veteran services • Research projects • Education programs • Workforce development • Nonprofit organizations Goal: Support a public purpose rather than purchase a product or service. 📋 What is an RFI? Request for Information An RFI is market research. Government agencies issue RFIs when they want to understand what products, services, or technologies are available before deciding whether to issue a solicitation. Purpose • Gather industry feedback • Learn about available solutions • Understand pricing trends • Improve future requirements • Identify potential vendors Important An RFI is NOT a contract. An RFI is NOT a grant. Responding to an RFI helps agencies understand the marketplace and can position your company before a formal solicitation is released. 📑 What is an RFP? Request for Proposal An RFP is a formal solicitation requesting vendors to submit a complete proposal explaining how they will perform the work. Government agencies generally use an RFP for more complex projects where technical approach, experience, staffing, and overall value are important. Examples • Healthcare Consulting • Staffing • Information Technology

Wow this is golden!
New to contracting and networking
H! All. While I am new to contracting, I am not new to networking. But, I hae a website that supports seniors and their caregivers. So, my networking is very limited. I was feeling overwhelmed with all the things I need to get organized and started. I guess I don't know what I don't know. I am in the process of creating the top prime companies for my skills. IT is my goal to make them aware that I am available to do subcontracting, it the need fits. Then, I created specific capability statements based on what they have been awarded in the past. I have been sending the introductory email with the capability statement. It is my goal to make phone calls to follow up. THis week, I have 2 scheduled zoom meetings for 2 potential partners. I am excited. I have also taken another approach, as well, I am seeing in my forecasting of bids that will be live in the next year. I have started contacting companies to make them aware of possible opportunities . I send an introductory email out and offer consulting support if they are interested in pursuing government contracts for their business. That has resulted in 3 companies reaching out to me. I am so excited. I am running my business, as well as trying to build my contracting business. It is my goal to make the contracting my full time job. There is so much possibility here,

This is great. I am so excited for you have you gotten any good feedback your post motivated to reach out because I need some money and I need to get this business off the ground? I have the website the bank account the LLC. I just don’t have any customers it’s a lot when you’re trying to start a business by yourself. Well, actually my son and my daughter have been helping me, but we can’t afford to hire anyone because of all the other expenses that it takes just to get started.
The diversity of the bids is insane
I look for potential bids on many things- even if it is outside my present NAICS codes. The things I had the potential bids vary. Here are just a few- pork with barbeque sauce ( 40,000 lbs of pork over a year) 26,000 tulip bulbs, Christmas lighting for a cty and a wrestling mat ( $40, 000 for one mat!) There is no reason for anyone not to succeed in the venture. Anyone can do this Amaxing
