🚨 One thing I wish more new government contractors knew BEFORE chasing contracts…
Getting your LLC, EIN, SAM registration, insurance, website, and certifications is a great start—but being “registered” doesn’t automatically mean you’re positioned to win contracts. The real question is: Are you actually positioned for the opportunities you’re searching for? Your NAICS codes, capabilities, past performance, pricing, certifications, target agencies, and even the way you present your company should all work together. I’ve seen businesses spend months searching SAM.gov for opportunities, only to discover they were searching too broadly or pursuing contracts that weren’t a good fit for their capabilities. If you’re already registered and actively looking for contracts, what’s the biggest challenge you’re facing right now—finding the right opportunities, understanding solicitations, pricing, or actually getting your first win? Drop it below. I’m curious to see what most people are struggling with.

looking for suggestions - Payroll Service
I am about to crash out. I RECEIVED MY EIN, I have my LLC, I'll uplaod my logoinssurance is in place, recruited a driver last night, i have LINKEDIN COVER PAGE, FACEBOOK COVER PAGE, I have 3 or 4 pages of my wensite to finnish, then I will load everything on line. I hope to win contracts and recruit drivers quickly. I need a way to pay drivers, accounnt for their time, and oinvoice clients. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

You’re actually much further along than you think😂 Don’t crash out now .you’ve already completed several of the pieces that stop most people before they even start. One thing I’d recommend is not waiting until you win a contract to build your back-office system. Get your driver onboarding, time tracking, payroll/driver payments, invoicing, insurance documentation, and basic bookkeeping organized now. For government contracts especially, you want clean records showing exactly who worked, when they worked, what was billed, and what was paid. That can make a huge difference when you start scaling. Also, before chasing every contract you see, make sure your NAICS codes, capabilities, registrations, website, and capability statement all tell the same story. You’re building a real operation now, not just a website. Keep going. You’re closer than you think

@Jalisa Nelson That’s a great foundation! 👍 With 3 years of experience and your own car, you already have valuable experience to build on. I’ll reach out to you directly and share some ideas on finding contract opportunities that may fit your setup.

@Nikea Nutall Thanks for sharing! Chicago + SUV is a good starting point. What’s your courier experience level—are you new to the industry or already running routes? Once I know that, I can point you toward contract opportunities that better fit your setup and experience.
