Welcome To The DIY HVAC Community!
Hello everyone! If we haven’t met, my name is Dave. I’m an HVAC contractor based in Salt Lake City, Utah. My objective with this community on Skool is to assist individuals in diagnosing, replacing, or expanding their knowledge about HVAC systems. As we establish this community, I’ll be actively participating daily, personally addressing any HVAC-related questions you may have. If you’ve successfully replaced your HVAC system with the assistance of my videos or remote support, please share your success stories in the designated category. We’d love to hear your experiences and insights after completing this project. Additionally, we’re offering a one-hour group Q&A session on the second Thursday of every month. Please make sure to check it out as well! If there’s anything else you would find beneficial, feel free to comment and let me know! Cheers 🍻 Dave

I have a question for you a customer of mine purchase an GE inverter heat pump from an outlet company , R410A 5 ton non communicating unit. She has a brand new boiler, which I’ve been servicing for her for the past two years. She doesn’t want a back up extra heating. She just want the unit connected separately the boiler in the winter for heating and in the summer the inverter just for cooling.. She has a conventional Honeywell 24 V thermostat.. I know once you run it just 24 V cooling you’re not gonna get the efficiency that people expect because actually it’s a straight AC condensing unit . The specs according to where she lives the square footage and calculating the tonnage like the old one that she had there I clarify it to be 5 ton. The lineset doesn’t have to be altered or anything it has to be flushed out because she wants the same line set so I have to flush it with AC cleaner flusher. The delivery came with everything that’s necessary R410A coil ( TXV) The inverter heat pump non-communicating disconnect Brand New and a brand new whip Low-voltage wiring is already there it just has to be connected My question is to make a story short. Have you ever connected an inverter heat pump for straight AC? If yes, please let me know what recommendations to check or do on this unit…
