Hi all. Decided I wanted the skills to open my own business. I'm very created as well. So, I wanted to learn how to incorporate this in my business venture.

@Paula Miller You will find the videos easy to follow and very informative and then if you still have questions they can usually be asked and answered here.
Hi
So I’ve decided to give making prints a good go as I would like a side income. I’ve made my Etsy, so far have about 50 listings and another 25 or so to add. I’m not going with a niche just making what I like. Would love any feedback, still yet to have anyone visit my shop but it is very early days. https://ohthatsink.etsy.com

Who doesn't need a glitterball crispy egg in their lives eh?
Helloooo!
Recently joined and have been playing on Midjourney this afternoon. I wanted to ask, as I see you should post loads to get any sort of traction, would it be ok if I turned my personal photos into posters? I am looking at the wild/sea swimming, camping, waterfalls, NE beauty spots, nature (mushrooms etc).. to start. I knocked these 2 up today (midjourney then canva), based on my own images. Is this a bad idea? I am a total newbie so please don't be too harsh 🤣 Just need to know if I want to achieve is viable, really. ie the process. I currently don't have 1000 images but I could get snapping away. I know I will get better over time. Thank you 😊

Hey Nicola Welcome to the group. Personally, I really like your first attempts at this poster lark. Your idea for a niche is excellent and the quality and composition are very appealing. I think that you might be on to something. Good luck.

@Nicola Potzas I don't think that it's a bad idea at all. It will depend on whether your target audience is actually going to see the listing. You will have to guess what they might search for.
Any thoughts on my new shop greatly appreciated :)
Hi all - been lurking in the background of this forum for a few months and I've found it very helpful, so thank you to all that have contributed. I have set up a relatively new shop focussing on travel prints, which I find is very scalable and repeatable in terms of production workflow. Before I sink more hours into this, I would hugely value an expert eye or two to cast over my shop to ensure I'm on the right track / to give some helpful pointers. I currently have 35 products listed with another 70 or so in the backlog ready to go (currently drip feeding them in at a rate of 5 per day). Obviously its early days and the general advice is that number of listings scales with sales, but I'd welcome views on whether there is anything else I should be doing and whether you think my niche is commercial (particularly given Etsy can feel quite saturated at times!). Is it simply a case of pumping more out, or should I pivot / adapt my approach? Thank you in advance to anyone that can spare 2 mins to check out my shop, which can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/PerfectPlacePrints

Your chosen niche is indeed saturated and so it's difficult to stand out from the crowd. The posters in your shop are clean and very nicely composed but so are a great many of your competitors. Perhaps you could cater for the less common holiday destinations, after all everywhere is a special place to someone. Just a thought.
