From time to time I will post here from some of the devotional commentaries I have written. I pray they encourage your faith! 1 Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, Peter is unashamed about his calling. In the opening line of his letter to the Body of Christ, he boldly declares himself an apostle. An apostle instigates cultural change by bringing the culture of heaven to earth. An apostle initiates and fosters the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven in an area—over and above the kingdom of this world in that same area—by using his gifting and calling to destroy the works of the devil and make Christ’s enemies Christ’s footstool. (Hebrews 10:13) He does so by partnering with a prophet to establish the Word of God in a region and raising up or empowering other apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. He helps them fulfill their role of equipping the Body of Christ for ministry until unity and maturity are reached (Ephesians 4:11–13; 2:20; Acts 15:32, 40). Peter declares his anointed apostleship in the first line not because he is trying to prove himself (he has already been anointed as an apostle to the Church by Jesus and has been recognized by the Church as such). Instead, Peter simply stands in the office where he has been rightly appointed so that he can appropriately fulfill his role as an apostle to the church. (Matthew 10:2; Acts 6:1–6; 15:6) Question: Are you boldly standing in the place God has appointed you, fully embracing the mission to bring the culture of Heaven into the world around you? If no, what is the next step God is asking you to take to live this kind of life?

I don't know about the rest of you but whenever I have lessons that involve reading through PDF documents, I run into a wall with retention. I’m naturally a slower reader, and when distractions hit, I often find myself re-reading the same paragraph multiple times just to make sure it actually sticks. While watching the SLT video on Joseph, a quote from Dr. Leon really stood out to me. As you probably know, Joseph had favor with his father, which naturally annoyed his brothers. Early on, his words and actions often came from a place of self-promotion. Think about what a deep humiliation it must have been to be sold into slavery by his own brothers. 😫 Then, just as he was making a great comeback, he was thrown into prison by false accusations and had to start all over again. 😡 Yet through all of this, God was shaping and developing Joseph into exactly who He intended him to become.😇 "...when you have the anointing of God, when you have the dream of God, it doesn't mean you have developed in godly character. That is a process that takes time, where you are shaped and forged by the Spirit of God, by the Word of God, by trials, and the tribulations that you go through..." — Dr. Leon For me, this was a powerful reminder to stay humble and truly embrace the process of healthy development and growth .

We shared the Jesus with a couple who had a little shop. They had just moved to the area. Adam shared the Gospel, then the man asked for proof. So I shared some testimonies from my life—of healing blind eyes, of the Muslim man on the plane who is now a Christian after prayer and a dream of Jesus. The man told us of an issue he and his wife were both having in their right arm and hand. He asked if Jesus could heal them. We said yes. The wife was in pain at the moment, and it only came at night. So we prayed for the wife, casting the afflicting spirit out. The 2nd prayer, it was 50% better. The 3rd, she was healed and could close her hand tightly, which she couldn’t do before! Thank You, Jesus, for what You did! Thank You for the healing! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Then Adam prayed for him, and we were supposed to come back and check to see about him. We came back the next morning, and his hand was healed. He then gave his life to Jesus. His wife chose to stay Buddhist. Her hand was healed of the pain and could close, but it closed slowly. 2 days later, the team came back to bring a Bible and to teach them worship songs, how to read the Bible, and how to pray. The wife was completely healed. They asked if she was ready to follow Jesus. She said, “Yes. I was waiting to see if this was real!” Salvation came to that whole family! ⸻ We stopped at a shop, and there was a man sick on the bed in the back of the store. We asked if we could pray for him. The lady who owned the shop was his wife. She seemed to be like a medicine lady in the village. It was very interesting because as we were sharing the Gospel, she kept saying the right things before we would share them. She kept declaring that Jesus was over every spirit. The man showed us his doctors’ reports. He had issues in his leg from his hip down and could not straighten his leg or put weight on it. We prayed. He straightened his leg. We prayed again. He stood up. The wife would not surrender to Jesus. They both said they could not at this time. After we left, we realized that the same spirit that was on the woman who followed Paul, declaring Jesus was the “Son of the Most High God,” was on that woman. She was saying accurate things before we said them and even declaring who Jesus was, but not willing to surrender.
