What are your "fear goals"?
I'm at a women biz conference that's like burning man meets Tony Robbins but super feminist. It's great! They've had one guy speak (the only guy) and he just explained that when that little voice pops up in his head that's afraid he sets a fear goal. Hell show up and his goal is to try his hardest but to fail. Like a comedian who bombs but finds they survive--and from that moment they're free. We're about to do the 10k in 10 days challenge starting Oct 1 and I'll be posting some pre-work to prep you. Your first challenge: set a fear goal. What is something that is scary but inspires you? You get to set your own goal for the challenge, and Rachel Rodgers, the originator of the challenge, says you can pick a number that feels comfortable and increase it by 30%. But I'm wondering what is something that, if you ran toward it, would blow the doors off your life. What if you went for that? Knowing that you might fail, but then the fear will lose its power. What is that goal for you? 10k in 10 days. 10k preorders. Giving away 1k (or even 10k!!!!) ARCS. It doesn't matter the number, really. Only that it challenges you. We're going to support and cheerlead you no matter what. But what if you tried your hardest, fell short and realized you survived? Shoot for the moon, land among the stars sort of thing. What is that goal for you? Mine is 10k preorders on my December launch. I have no idea what exactly could 50x my current preorders ... Only that the rush of movement (emailing, posting, shaking my tatats on tiktok) will move my business forward. What about you?

I agree with Tanya and Christina. The 10k in 10 days would be a fear goal for me.

@Lee Savino I’m in
Lee’s Embrace Marketing Meditation
I listen to the Embrace Marketing Meditation and Wealth Magnet Meditation every night as I go to sleep. Today the Embrace Marketing Meditation paid off big time so I wanted to share. I had breakfast with three of my good friends at a bar/diner I hadn't been to before, and one of my friends jokingly mentioned to the server that I was a world-famous thriller author. The server got really excited because that's her favorite genre. I happened to have some books with my old covers in my car, and one of my friends went out and got one for her. Next thing I know, the bartender and the cook are both at the table raving about how much they love thrillers, and people at nearby tables are paying way too much attention. My friend went back out to the car, got more books, and started handing them out like party favors--which completely cracked me up. But hey, they might as well go to people who will actually read them! A month ago, this whole situation would have stressed me out so bad and made me feel so uncomfortable, but today it was actually really fun. I attribute that directly to listening to that meditation every day. So thank you, Lee!

Love that
Happy Friday!
What are you excited about? Share something good--a new cover, some words, an idea you have, a win! Let's celebrate each other!

I finished the first edits on my Christmas story. Now it’s back to my editor for a second round.
Do you sabotage yourself?
I've been rereading the Big Leap and he talks about how we all have an upper limit, the high end of our comfort zone where we might sabotage ourselves before ascending it. I'm curious if you've noticed this in your own life. I definitely hit one in 2022. Some of it was burn out--I didn't allow myself enough rest and fun to recooperate. And I once left a room of very successful authors, telling myself I did belong (even though I did!). And I see how I avoid being more visible on social media--there's some visibility I allow but I tend to control it. Denise DT talks about how some people get sick before launches, or don't allow themselves to launch at all! Or spend their money as fast as they make it, or give their money away or feel guilty about saving it. Or avoid doing the things that would make them successful, like marketing (I've done this too!). Think of a time you had some break out success or momentum and notice how you behaved. Did you celebrate? Allow yourself to rest? Or did you go out and wreck your car (I had an entrepreneurial ex-boyfriend who did this every time business went well)? No judgement, just notice! How do you sabotage yourself when reaching your upper limit?
