@Dr Mike Greene DL . Some people grumble that roses have thorns; while others are grateful that thorns have roses.”🌹 😊

@Dr Mike Greene DL I like to think that gratitude and contentment are deeply connected, because gratitude shifts your focus from what you lack to an appreciation of what you already have. 😊
AT 27, I WAS BANKRUPT AND HOMELESS.
My wife and I were sofa-surfing, and we spent 2 years delivering pizzas on mopeds just to survive. I eventually worked my way back through a corporate career and found the courage to start again in business. But I made another mistake. I thought being a good business owner meant carrying everything myself ...the decisions, the problems and the responsibility. I worked every hour, had ulcers in my twenties and was grey by my thirties. The business belonged to me, but most of the time it felt as though I belonged to the business. Everything changed when I stopped trying to be the answer to everything. I put the right people around me and built proper plans, structures and systems so the business no longer needed me in every conversation or decision. That business went on to support clients in 20+ countries. I sold it and retired in 2011 at 46. After 9months i was bored Sh💩less and realised i missed and loved business So for the past 15 years, I’ve helped other business owners avoid learning every lesson the hard way. Some turn over £500,000... others are responsible for businesses worth £billions. The numbers change, but the problem doesn’t: too much still depends on the person at the top. You don’t need to work harder. You need the right people around the table, the right systems behind the business and somewhere to take the decisions you shouldn’t have to make alone. That’s the problem I’m setting out to solve. What are you still carrying because there’s nobody else you trust to carry it?

@Dr Mike Greene DL For me the big take away from your post is having “The Right People” which you mentioned twice in your post. I’d add, having the courage or as you might say yourself, 😁 The B 🥎 lls to move them on when you realise that they are not “The Right People “ As businesses grow and expand, that becomes even more important in my opinion. I’ve always said, nothing kills a good employee more than watching you tolerate a bad one.
Unless we allow comfort to become our culture.
Too many people no longer let hardship forge character. Instead, they let it justify excuses, dependency, blame and the expectation that someone else should fix what only they can change. The challenge isn’t avoiding hard times. It’s deciding who you become because of them. I was reminded this morning of the quote: Hard times create strong people. Strong people create good times. Good times create weak people. Weak people create hard times. Unfortunately, I think we’ve reached a point where the cycle is being broken. Too often, hard times are no longer creating stronger people. They’re creating a culture of entitlement instead of responsibility. Dependency instead of resilience Victimhood instead of ownership. Excuses instead of action. Not everyone chooses that path. Many people still use adversity as fuel to build remarkable lives. But as a society, we’ve become far too comfortable telling people that the answer lies somewhere else: with the government, with employers, with family, with circumstances, with anyone except the person staring back at them in the mirror. No one is coming to save you. The day you stop waiting for rescue and start taking responsibility is the day your life begins to change Hard times will always come. The only question is whether they’ll break you… or build you.
Unless we allow comfort to become our culture.

Morning @Dr Mike Greene DL I like this post, I’ve said so many times in the past that some of the old values are still very relevant today, when I have said that, I’ve had a few people say that my views were old fashioned and I should move on….. Of course I took that advice with a grain of salt 😁 We’re all for embracing what’s new and what will make us better etc …. But just like you said, the world still needs strong people because guess what, hard times will come again… just get on with it and learn from them. Have a great day Mike and we’ll catch up soon. 👍

You are one among 117 BILLION people. Yet you are one of one. Read that again. 👆 Scientists estimate 117 billion humans have ever lived. Not one had your DNA. Not one had your fingerprint. Not one had your voice. Not one lived your experiences. Not one saw the world through your eyes. 🎨 A Rembrandt is worth millions. But he painted hundreds. 🎼 Mozart's music is treasured worldwide. But he wrote over 600 works. 🎻 A Stradivarius is priceless. But more than 1,000 were made. You? There has only ever been one. And there will only ever be one. Yet most people spend their lives trying to be somebody else. They copy. They conform. They seek approval. They bury the very thing that makes them unique. Imagine owning an original masterpiece... ...then painting over it to look like everyone else's. Madness. Yet that is exactly what millions do with their lives. The greatest tragedy is not failure. It is spending your life as a second-rate version of someone else... ...instead of a first-rate version of yourself. You are one among billions. Yet you are one of one. Start acting like it. 🔥
