An excerpt from my upcoming book; the second in my 8:2 Theory series. How Pareto’s Principle Applies to 8s Pareto's Principle, the observation that roughly eighty percent of outcomes are produced by roughly twenty percent of causes, tells us that focused, intentional effort in the right areas produces disproportionate results. You do not have to fix everything in your life or be everywhere at once. You do not have to solve the entire problem of the 2s single-handedly before your own life can improve, but you must take the right actions consistently, in the areas that matter most. Faith. Trust and Self-development. These three elements, applied consistently, are the twenty percent that moves the eighty. And then, life happens. I mean that plainly. Unexpected loss, illness, betrayal, financial reversal, the collapse of plans that seemed solid. None of these challenges are signs that the theory has failed or that you are taking the wrong actions. They are the conditions of existence on this particular planet, and they visit the 8 just as they visit anyone else. The difference is not that the 8 is protected from difficulty, the difference is that the 8 who has done the work, who has built the faith and the self-development and the community of genuine relationship, does not face those difficulties empty-handed. You will face challenges you did not anticipate and could not have prepared for specifically. But being prepared will soften the blow, make challenges easier to overcome, and build the kind of inner stability that does not depend on outer circumstances staying favorable. Cultivate relationships with other genuine 8s who will still be standing beside you when life gets hard. Keep your faith fresh—not just in the good times when life comes easily, but in the moments that require real effort to maintain. The 8 who have grasped this theory and committed to living life at its fullest aren't promised a life without hardship, but they are equipped, and therefore, will bounce back faster and handle life with a more positive mindset. And in a world that the 2s have worked for thousands of years to make as difficult as possible for the rest of us, being equipped is a necessity to ride out the storms that come our way.

@Muhib Ullah Shah sounds really cool. I love stories with adult themes happening to young people. I feel like young people are overlooked in the world like they need to always grow older to even be seen. That’s wrong in my view. A child can be born with a gift of composing amazing music, complete graduate school by 10 years old, solve difficult math and science problems by these same ages, and still we don’t see them as important or valuable members of our community, only as potential contributors. @Bennette Seaman I’m glad. Actually I was looking for an interfaith minister to write the forward for my upcoming book! The 8:2 principal is also compatible with interfaith views if you can see it that way. God loves both 8s and 2s, and 8s should be wise instruments of gods love when dealing with 2s. There’s really no incompatibility with any religion. The 8:2 framework just gives us a heads up as to what obstacles are around…2s. By the way, some 2s eventually do realize they’re 2s and begin the process of returning to the brotherhood of 8s. However, the hurt they’ve caused as 2s and all the repercussions from that doesn’t go away just because they feel genuine remorse. So it’s a long process for them. Some die 2s, never change. And they can fake regret and remorse also so be careful. And thanks for the desire for it to go viral. You’re welcome to share with anyone you think could benefit.

@Lesley Forrester that’s pretty cool. I’m more north near NYC. NJ has all kinds of ways of describing people from different parts of the state like south Jersey or central, and northern. It’s mostly funny but there may be some truth to it.

@Veronica aka Ronnie Cortez literally a 15 minute drive to the George Washington Bridge back near my neighborhood. I moved out at 10 years old with my folks been in a couple parts of NJ since. Good times, strong bonds, but we’re all grown.
