A Story About A Man & A Stroke
An elderly man has been to the hospital after a mild stroke (when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or a blood vessel in the brain bleeds). He is fortunate. There has not been a lot of damage to his brain, and he is still walking and talking, but the left side of his body is weak. The doctor prescribes a blood thinner (a medicine that helps keep blood clots from forming) to prevent a recurrent or bigger stroke. The bottle gives the drug's name, the strength, and the dose. The man has been taking ASA (acetylsalicylic acid, also known as aspirin) for many years to help prevent stroke and heart attack, but a stroke did happen. The man goes home and adds the blood thinner to his daily medications. 🔍 Can you spot the problem in this story? If so, tell me below! 👇 Ask Lynne's Health Exchange - more voices - better health literacy!

Should he take the aspirin and the new medication? They are both blood thinners!

💭 TUESDAY THOUGHTS: What happens when someone joins your community?
Imagine I'm brand new. I join your Skool community today. I don't know you yet. I don't know anyone else. I don't know where everything is. And I don't know whether this is somewhere I want to stay. What happens next? Do I immediately know where to go? Does anyone notice I'm new? Does someone welcome me? Do I see people talking and feel like I could join in? Or do I quietly look around…and leave again? 👀 That first experience can shape how someone feels about your community long before they ever become an active member. 𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁: ❤️ What is the FIRST feeling you want a new member to have when they walk into your community? Welcomed? Excited? Relieved? Curious? Seen? Like they've finally found their people? 👀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 Think about the last person who joined your community. Go back and look at what they would have experienced in their first few minutes. Then ask yourself: 👉 “Did I make it easy for this person to feel like they belonged?” Don't change anything yet. Just notice what you find. 👇 Then tell us one thing you already do to make new members feel welcome. You might give another community owner an idea they can use too. ❤️

For us, I think the first feeling is seen. ❤️ Not just “someone noticed I joined,” but “someone is actually curious about me and what I’m building.” One thing we do is reach out personally and start learning about the person behind the profile. That first conversation gives us little things to remember and circle back to later. I think sometimes it’s those small moments of “you remembered” that begin turning a new place into somewhere you belong.

An invitation for women carrying a lot
The Room to Breathe grows mostly by invitation. I started with founding members and a few allies I invited myself. Then I asked them to bring one woman who needed it. It's slower than a big launch. I build for compounding, not spikes. So consider this your invitation. If you're a woman carrying a lot in your head (work, family, a business, the people you take care of), The Room is a calm place to put some of it down. Short weekday prompts, nothing to catch up on. Come in. Leave lighter. The Room to Breath

GROWTH MONDAY: A MEMBER CAN BE ACTIVE… AND STILL NOT BELONG.
We often measure community health by what we can see: 💬 Comments ❤️ Likes 📝 Posts 🎥 Call attendance 🏆 Challenges completed But here's the uncomfortable part… Activity doesn't always equal belonging. Someone can comment every day and still feel like they're on the outside. Someone can attend your calls but never feel comfortable enough to truly be themselves. Someone can consume everything you post and still wonder: “Do I actually have a place here?” That's why this week we're going to look beyond engagement and talk about belonging. Because the real question isn't only: 👉 “How do I get my members to participate?” It's also: 👉 “How do I create a community where people feel they belong?” And those are two very different questions. So let's start with a little observation today: 👀 Look at your community and think of one member who is active. Then ask yourself: “Do I know whether this person feels like they belong here?” You might not know the answer. And that's exactly the point. 👇 What do you think is the difference between someone who participates in a community and someone who truly feels like they belong? Let's talk about it. ❤️

@Oddysey Campbell I so agree! The best conversations occur in the comments between members. That's where the magic occurs!

🎉 SKOOL NEXUS IS TURNING ONE! 🎉
𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿! One year of community owners connecting, sharing ideas, collaborating, supporting each other and figuring this community-building thing out together. When I started Skool Nexus, I wanted to create a place where community owners could connect with people who get it — without the pressure to constantly perform or sell. And here we are… ONE YEAR LATER. ❤️ 𝙎𝙤 𝙊𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙉𝙚𝙭𝙪𝙨 𝘽𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝! 🥳 Throughout the month we'll be celebrating YOU the people who have helped make Nexus what it is. We'll be looking back at what we've created, sharing some of the lessons I've learned along the way, talking about what's coming in Year 2, and yes… there may be a few surprises along the way. 👀 But let's start with YOU. 👇 What is one thing you've gained from being part of Skool Nexus? A connection? An idea? A collaboration? A lesson? A little more confidence? Tell me below. I'd love to hear it. 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀.
