Great Call!
A lot was covered on tonight's player development call! 3 highlights that come to mind: 1. The best coaches are able to turn complexity into simplicity 2. Three training methods are the games-based approach/CLA, Technical Skills, and Feel Good/Game Shots. How do you blend the 3 in different parts of the year to maximize growth and development? 3. Mastering Teaching Shooting mechanics can separate you as a coach Great chat! @Joseph Wunder @Peniel Smythe @Toby Lewis @Lonnie Favel See y'all for the next call this Friday at 10am est!

🏀 STEP 1: START HERE
The Small-Sided Games Course is the best place to begin—and it’s quickly become the favorite resource among our coaches and trainers. Complete Step 1 by watching how I structure my workouts based on each age or talent level: https://www.skool.com/dannycooperbasketball/classroom/6503cfab?md=3de37d6ab21e4cdbb52e429dac1cef21 Then watch one game from each section: ✅ 1v1 ✅ 1v2 ✅ 1v3 ✅ 2v1 ✅ 2v2 ✅ 3v3 ✅ 4v4 Once you’ve watched all seven, comment below with: 1. Which game was your favorite? 2. What age or level do you train Then, choose one game and apply it to your next workout. Come back afterward and let us know how it went! 👇 Comment “DONE” and your favorite game when you finish!

@Shannon Williams Have them rep the move 1 on 0, and then add a defender to give them that live rep, then play a game to 3 or 5. Making them use that move to "unlock" the live rep. Defensive is trying to steal it as well to make it game like. We did a lot of this when teaching barkley's.
Wasted Time
What's one thing you think youth coaches spend too much time on in practice? And what would you spend more time on instead? For me, it's endless/thoughtless conditioning at the end of practice! 👇 Let's hear your thoughts.

I've seen a lot of them spend about 30 minutes of a hour practice stretching and playing tag games🤣. It was hard to watch for sure
