What helps you tell the difference between a choice that feels true and a reaction to pressure?
I’m a bigger girl, and I’ve had a complicated relationship with my weight and what I wear for a long time. But the healing work I’ve been doing is helping me feel closer to myself than I ever have. Yesterday, I was dancing in a tank top, looking at my reflection, and felt the urge to lift it into a crop top. I did...and it felt amazing. I was excited to go out with my friends and my boyfriend dressed that way. But before he even knew that’s what I wanted, I put a tee shirt on over it. He had put on dress pants, which felt funny because lately I’ve often been the one dressing up in a dress. We joked about the irony, and I showed him the tank top underneath. I said, “Well, this is how I really want to go.” He laughed and said people might make fun of me. I laughed too and wondered out loud what they might say. Later, we talked more seriously. He said he’d feel the need to step in if someone was rude, and asked me to consider how that might affect him too. I heard him...and I also noticed that I’d covered up before he even knew I was considering going out that way. I’d felt good in what I was wearing, then changed before anyone else had a chance to react. I’m still sitting with that. Was I protecting myself? Avoiding someone else’s discomfort? And how do I make room for my own choice without turning it into a reaction? One thing I know: I want to buy a bunch of crop tops now, even though the weather is about to get cold. 😂 That may be the rebel in me talking...but I also love the feeling of not hiding. Maybe I’ll wear one tomorrow. Maybe I’ll take my time. Either way, I want the choice to come from being connected to myself. Where do you notice yourself wanting to express more of who you are...and what helps you tell the difference between a choice that feels true and a reaction to pressure?

Wow, that’s deep. It kinda reminds me of the masks we sometimes put on to belong or to fit in. It’s funny how we pass by these thoughts and experiences and not voice them out. Fair play for doing so. You’ve asked interesting questions. Sometimes the answer is in the question. If no one were judging me, rewarding me, rejecting me, or expecting anything from me, what would I choose?

@Lee Simmons that’s a good one. It rhymes too.
History
History is not the past. It is the present. We carry our history with us.

@Court Simp time in my experience is like a compass show us our direction . Intentional when it comes time to crucial. Original that starts to deepen over time. Unlike over time at work. Co-creating psychologically effects time or the quality of time and space. The fourth dimension is time. There is no other means of measuring distance, or what we’ve done otherwise. So I am grateful for time and the times I could show more compassion to myself and my many life’s or loved experiences.

@Lee Simmons Sometimes many history carry us. Acknowledging the differences makes selflovingkindness a little more easily accessed.

Growth
Real growth is quiet… but it’s disruptive, chaotic, stressful, great toil, sweat, blood and tears. When you stop leading from emotion and start leading from self-trust, some people feel the shift—and don’t know what to do with it. Not everyone misses you. Some miss the version they could predict, that you once presented. The one who over-explained. Over-gave. Over-adapted. Healing doesn’t make you louder. It makes you clear. And clarity changes the room. Sometimes growth doesn’t look like confidence. It looks like clarity. Clarity directs you on the path that you need to go and action gets you there. The intuition never lies. Act now. It looks like fewer explanations. Stronger boundaries. Quieter decisions. I’m not becoming harder. I’m becoming more honest. No bitterness. No announcement. Just a steady walk forward.

@Kátia Castro Costa There is no process to fight. If you give up control or appearance of control you’ll see - no one has the control. We don’t do the growth. Growth gets done to us.
