Just an observation...🤔
Nobody tells you that being "the reliable one" can quietly turn into feeling invisible. You show up, you handle it, you don't complain — and eventually they don't even have to ask anymore. They just complain about something out loud, not thinking, and you're already handling it. Somewhere along the way you stopped being someone's partner and became someone's problem-solver. Like any training, it happens slowly, over time. If that hits different than you expected, you're not broken and you're not alone in here. That's exactly the pattern we're here to break.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the story about Cinderella and her stepsister‘s but my story is a little bit different. I was allowed to go to the Royal Ball, but I had to serve everyone and clean up afterwards and fix the broken table that someone sat on because that’s just what I do ……stuff for everyone else
Update with a question...
Been quiet in here for a bit — not by choice. My wife's been in and out of the hospital, and the Forge had to take a back seat to a life priority for a minute. Being that i'm in between the down and it's looking up I wanted to put a post up to show I'm still here. Which, honestly, is its own kind of lesson. Life doesn't ask permission before it interrupts your plans. So here's the question for the week: when something real knocks your routine sideways — health, family, whatever it is — what's the first thing that usually falls to bottom of the list of importance??? Was it the right thing to let drop, or just the easiest one?

@Oriane Curtis the last two days I had a 9 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper that I wrote down 19 different things that I need to accomplish for everybody else else and to stay out of trouble trouble with the Tax man then as I just said that I thought of something else that needs to go on the list Every time I’m in my house and outside my house and at my daughter‘s house and outside her house, I find at least five other things that have been requested of my services I remind them to make sure I get it done because when I’m dead, they’ll have to pay somebody else to do it

I have a passion for motorcycles and riding my cycles but here it is the end of summer going into fall and I haven’t even ridden once yet and all I get from everyone else is you should sell that thing you’re gonna get hurt
