This morning I listened to a podcast that really hit home for me. We make fitness plans for the version of ourselves who slept great, has plenty of time, feels motivated and has nothing unexpected happen. But that’s not real life. 😂 Kids need you. Work gets crazy. You’re tired. You travel. You don’t feel like training. And THAT is when most plans fall apart. So I want you to start thinking differently. 1️⃣ CREATE YOUR “BAD DAY” PLAN Maybe your good-day workout is 45 minutes. Your bad-day workout? 10 minutes. Maybe your goal is 10,000 steps. Crazy day? Take a 10-minute walk after dinner. Maybe your nutrition is usually on point. Bad day? Forget perfect — just make sure you get protein at every meal. The goal isn’t always to do MORE. The goal is to keep the promise you made to yourself. 2️⃣ STOP STARTING OVER One less-than-perfect meal doesn’t require a new diet Monday. One missed workout doesn’t mean the week is ruined. Ask yourself: 👉 What worked today? 👉 What got in my way? 👉 What’s ONE thing I can change tomorrow? Adjust. Don’t quit. 3️⃣ DECIDE ONCE This one is HUGE. If you wake up every morning asking yourself… “Should I work out today?” …you’ve already created an opportunity to say NO. Decide ahead of time. Monday, Wednesday, Friday = strength. It’s on the calendar. The decision has already been made. Your workout can change depending on the day — but the commitment doesn’t. 4️⃣ TRACK WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL Don’t only track the scale. Track your ACTIONS. ✅ Did I strength train? ✅ Did I get my protein? ✅ Did I walk? ✅ Did I drink my water? ✅ Did I do SOMETHING even when I didn’t feel like it? Because those little check marks eventually become the result you’re looking for. I’ve trained for 40+ years and I can promise you I haven’t been motivated for 40 years. 😂 I’ve just learned that something beats nothing, over and over and over again. Your plan doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs to survive your real life. ❤️ 👇 YOUR TURN: What’s your BAD DAY PLAN? Tell me ONE thing you can commit to doing even on the days when life goes completely sideways.
