The dirty little secret most business owners will not admit ๐Ÿคซ
Almost every business owner I talk to has the same secret. They will admit it on a call, quietly, about ten minutes in. Never in public. They are cheating on their business. Not with a person. With another business idea. They look at someone else's offer, someone else's niche, someone else's audience, and think: that looks easier than what I am doing. If I just had a better niche. A better audience. If I launched the other thing, it would finally click. Here is the question nobody asks them. If you are not willing to build a real system inside the business you already have, what makes you think the next one will be any different? Most owners do not need a new business. They need a better machine around the one that already feeds them. Because boredom in business is real. You get tired of saying the same thing. Tired of posting. Tired of explaining what you do. Tired of chasing leads. So your brain goes shopping for a new vehicle, and shopping feels like progress. It is not. It is the most expensive kind of quitting there is. The move is not start over. The move is build a better front end for the thing that already pays you. Sharpen the offer until it is lemonade stand clear. Say the message the same way every time. Build a system that turns attention into trust and trust into booked calls. That is what the Academy teaches for free, and it is why the Lab and Truck walkthrough is the first thing I point people to after you get through the basics. If you are past needing more lessons and you want the whole system installed with you, that is what the Accelerator is. It is for owners who are done bouncing between ideas. I work with you every week to get more customers for your business, or more members for your community. Every day you spend staring at someone else's business is a day your own stays harder than it needs to be. If you're ready to grow your business, see if you qualify for the Accelerator here: https://oneawaystudios.com/content-marketing-accelerator-application-full

You said tacos. They clicked and saw a sandwich. | Episode #15 recap
Episode 15 is in the books. Short one, because Melissa and I are on a plane in the morning. Here is the recap in case you missed it. **Organic. You do not need to post more. You need to post the right thing.** We walked through the 1879, a restaurant client in Sealy, Texas. Their very first real post was a simple Opening Soon carousel, posted on a Friday at 5pm. Seventy two hours later: over 43,000 views, 330 likes, 49 shares, 872 new followers, and 250 emails collected. Since April 10 that page has done 930,100+ views on Facebook, collected over 1,400 emails, and sold 998 tickets in the first four days of a soft opening that only ran five hours a night. Here is the part that gets people. For three months there was not a single food photo. Not a pepperoni, not a noodle. The restaurant was still under construction. We showed the dusty counters and the cables hanging from the ceiling, we told the story, we introduced the people, and we pointed every single call to action at one thing: join the Founders Club, which means give us your email. Views are the receipt. The list is the asset. Reach with nowhere to send people is just a nice screenshot. Two more things from that block. Carousels are the only format we see regularly outperform reels, so brand them and lean on them. And stop being afraid to repeat yourself. Members of that audience still ask what the hours are every week, after four months of posting. New people enter your world every day, so say the same thing again. **Paid. The ad is almost never the problem.** Most businesses promise tacos, and then the click shows a sandwich. The content says one thing, the ad says another, the landing page says a third, and a stranger has to re-learn what you do at every step. Most of them quit instead. Melissa brought up Mr. Beast as the example. The thumbnail says the thing, the first three seconds say the thing, and the video does the thing. No bait and switch, so the trust compounds. The chain is simple. Your content makes the promise. Your ad repeats it, same words, same claim, same face. Your page delivers it on the first screen. I do this on my own funnel, where the words on my ad are literally the words on the page you land on. Congruency is free. It is the cheapest lift in paid, and almost nobody does it.

@Vicki McCloud glad to hear it!
The Content OS just got an upgrade ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ
Howdy y'all. I just pushed a round of updates to the Content OS, and I recorded a walkthrough so you can see exactly what changed. Here's the short version. ๐ŸŽฏ Setup Your Brand is now numbered No more guessing where to start. The steps are laid out in order, so you just work top to bottom. ๐ŸŽค Brand Discovery got deeper I rewrote the questions to pull better answers out of you. That one exercise fills out three documents at once: your Database of Truth, your One Offer, and your Brand Voice Guide. Do it out loud. Hit "start transcribing" and talk. When we type, we clean ourselves up and lose our real voice. When we talk, the AI hears your cadence and the words you actually use. I say "howdy" and "y'all," so my content should reflect, howdy and y'all. That's the whole point. Plan for 30 to 40 minutes if you've been in business a while, 10 to 20 if you're newer. When you're done, copy the prompt at the bottom, paste it to your AI assistant, and it fills in your diagnosis, brand voice guide, database of truth, audience bank, and the details of your One Offer. If something's missing, it'll ask you for it. ๐Ÿค– More AI models inside the OS Opus, Fable 5, GPT, Kimi K, Grok, Gemini, plus the older ones. There's an Auto mode that picks the best model for the job. No separate ChatGPT or Claude subscription needed. I stay on the newest Opus for most things. ๐Ÿ“… Content blocks auto-build Open a new block in the content calendar and you get hook variations, the script, a CTA pulled from your One Offer, a B-roll shot list, and your caption. All of it runs off your brand voice and database of truth. You still need to manually review and edit. AI gets you 80 to 90% there, and the last 10% are the handful of words you change to make it sound like you. ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ One reminder on Brand Assets Upload the real files. Actual logos, actual headshots, actual photos of you. The image and carousel generation results get way better when it has real material to work from. Accelerator folks: your prebuilt agents, skills library, and YouTube playbooks are ready to duplicate in. More on that soon.

What we brought back from a room of 90 owners in LA | Episode 16 replay
Replay is attached. Melissa and I got back from LA on Monday, and Episode 16 was us handing over the useful parts of Saturday. About 90 owners from around the world in one room, and we also got to meet the first investor in Skool, which was its own education. Three things we covered. 1. Organic. Who has the most proof in your niche? If the answer is not you, you are not ready to be louder. You are ready to be narrower. Niche down until you are the most credible name in a small pond, then let the pond grow. Collect three kinds of proof, not one. Your own results, with dates on them. One specific client result. And your average result, which is the one almost nobody posts and the one that closes skeptics. Proof also has to match the person reading it. A landscaper wants to see landscaping results. A salon owner wants salon results. That is why serving everyone slows you down. We lived that in our events business, and learning to say no to the wrong client is what freed us up to say yes to more of the right ones. No proof yet? Do the work free first, or run a 90 day competition with the clients you already have. Pick one metric, track it, and you will manufacture all three kinds of proof at the same time. 2. Paid. An ad is a tap, not a strategy. Ads are a faucet. You turn them up to fill the calendar and down when it is full. But a tap only pays when the plumbing behind it is built, and most people turn it on before anything is ready. They also chase cheap leads, and cheap things are expensive. A bad lead costs you time and energy, which is worth more than the click. What has to be built: A page that says three things and nothing else. Who it is for, the outcome they get, and proof it has worked. Then a confirmation page that keeps selling, with a case study, a short video, and what to expect on the call. Then a follow up measured in minutes, not days. Call, text, voicemail, email. And the rule from last week still runs the whole thing. You said tacos, then they land on a page about sandwiches. Take the words off your page and use them as your ad copy so there is no gap to fall through.
