No Boots!
This might be an unpopular opinion here, but as an Iranian, I can't get behind the idea of a foreign invasion to "Liberate" Iran. First off, the idea of foreign soldiers marching the streets of Iran is not a good look to any true Iranian patriot. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't wanna see foreign soldiers marching on Iran's soil. There's a fine line between liberation and conquest and I believe that line is boots on the ground. Yes, the Islamic Republic has to go, but the way to accomplish that isn't American boots on the ground. It's arming the Iranian people who are counting the days until they have a chance fight this regime. Also, aside from being unpopular, there are several problems for the U.S. invasion of Iran would be a nightmare politically and strategically. Any city American troops take, they'll just be sitting ducks, and even if they hold territory, it can very easily turn the population agaisnt the U.S.

Narrative heel turn by IRGC
I've noticed an interesting narrative shift by certain "Nationalist" sects of IRGC supporters lately. That is, Praising the late Shah as a good man and a patriot who was undermined by the west inirder to weaken Iran. It seems like instead of resisting the popular sentiment, they're trying to use it now. It's as if they're trying to recruit more nationalists to rally around the flag.

@Tziporah L. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I also think they're at a point where they can't fool people as easily in this day and age, they can't say the Shah was not a patriot, so what they do instead is twist the narrative. Instead of saying he was a traitor, they say he was a patriot, but was wrong to trust the west.

@Daniel Bell Idk if they're trying to jump ship honestly. They're saying things like "The Islamic Republic has been feeding the wrong narrative to this generation. Bashing the Shah and saying death to America is too simplistic. What they should've taught kids is that the Shah was a patriot, trying to make Iran great, but he was wrong to think he could do it with western tools." To me, this sounds like then trying to win over the "Javid Shah" crowd. They know they can't just kill all of them, so might as well try to win them over.

Basically Karimi got into it with someone on Pahlavi's team and called him a liar, then gave The prince an ultimatum of 24hours to address the matter, when it wasn't addressed, he publicly withdrew his support.

Opposition division
I think this whole ordeal with Ali Kairmi is absolutely ridiculous. I don't get why we have to tear eachother apart when we have a common enemy back home. I get that some people get frustrated at the crown prince for not being more active, but the solution to that isn't to whine and complain. I think our movement has to be more welcoming. Different people have different ways to contribute. When Khomeini was coming to power, he wasn't selective about who got to be on his side. He tried to define his goals in a way that everyone saw their own vision in it. If this coalition can't direct the negativity toward the enemy, we're gonna spend our time and energy on pointless infighting.

Wtf is this?
How are we Iranians supposed to get behind this? We want our country liberated. That doesn't mean we want is partitioned. This is the gratitude we get for standing with Israel when no one else did?

@Daniel Bell It's neither of those. I think it's more related to security reasons for Israel. I've heard people like Ben Shapiro for instance(I know he's not on the JP editorial Board) say things like "If Iranians are busy with a civil war, thats less of a chance they'll build nukes" or "Both a secualr Iran and a chaotic Iran are in Israel's interest", but I think he's wrong, because partitioning Iran won't lower the danger to Israel. It'll just delay it. When the dust settles, if the sectarians come out on top, or even if they just survive, they'll be much more aggressive than before.

@Uncle Coping The issue is when they talk like this, and even when western sources do things like calling the Persian Gulf the Arabian gulf, they're handing an easy propaganda tool to the IRGC and their supporters. I think controlling they're narrative is just as important as controlling fire power in this war. I try to keep my finger on the pulse of their supporters and they're constantly saying things like "The west wants to balkanize Iran, and take our oil". That's how they rally suporot for this illegitimate regime.
