1. I’m scared to express my honest feelings and emotions because of my childhood. Growing up yelling to be heard over four sisters taught me that speaking honestly wasn’t safe, so now I default to defending, over‑explaining, or attacking instead of simply expressing what I feel. 2. I’m blunt and direct, but I’ve learned to perform so my communication lands well. That means I end up diluting my message, managing other people’s reactions, and being inauthentic instead of just saying what I actually mean. 3. I often can’t find the right words to soften my message, so it ends up coming across unclear. I’m trying to make it land gently, but in the process I lose the clarity and the truth of what I actually mean. 4. I can see the intent and subtleties behind people’s communication, and I respond to what’s actually happening underneath. That can create conflict because I’m not playing the surface‑level game everyone else is responding to. I struggle to connect. 5. I know communication is my biggest lesson, and I hate that it’s my lesson because I don’t feel like I have the tools yet. I can see deeply, I can speak with precision, but actually expressing myself in a way people can receive still feels out of reach.
