Saturday Lesson
I’ve had a particular ad pop up repeatedly on my Facebook feed. I like watching the AI format. It’s usually two women talking about how to introduce themself in a work or public setting. The irritation for me is you have to buy into it to find the answer. I don’t want to spend the money, even though I’m more that curious to know the answer. I cheated. I logged into Chatgbt and asked the question. I got the answer for free. I spent some time asking the particular questions that would help me in a few different situations. I copied and pasted them so I can memorize the them. Introductions that will make you memorable and what to say next. This is good to know when you’re at a conference or a meeting with a friend or spouse and you don’t know a soul there. Don’t start with “Hello my name is (filli in your name)” or “What do you do?” How do you handle introducing yourself? I don’t charge for the answer.

I would have probably started with Hello my name is.... that's probably why I don't public speak

📖 🎥 Did you miss our incredible guest workshop yesterday?
Were you one of the members who was in the room with us for @Des Dreckett YouTube for Book Marketing workshop? If so, you already know how much gold was packed into that session. Des brought practical, no-fluff expertise you could start using the moment the call ended, and I am still thinking about everything he shared. For those of you who missed it, here are the three essential steps Des walked us through for authors who want to use YouTube as a book marketing tool: One Problem, One Solution Videos: The biggest mistake authors make on YouTube is trying to cover too much in a single video. Des broke down why the most effective videos focus on one specific problem your reader is facing and offer one clear solution. When you narrow your focus, your message gets sharper, your viewer stays longer, and your book becomes the natural next step. A Sustainable Weekly Video Creation Practice: Consistency is everything on YouTube, and Des showed us exactly how to build a video creation practice that fits into a real-life schedule without burning out. You do not need to spend hours in front of a camera every week. You need a system, and Des gave us one. The Anatomy of a Perfect Video Hook: The first few seconds of your video determine whether a viewer stays or scrolls away. Des walked us through exactly what makes a hook work, how to open a video in a way that stops the scroll and keeps your viewer watching long enough to hear about your book. If you are planning to market your book with video, be sure to watch our replay. The link will be dropping soon, and I will share it with the community the moment it goes live. Tell us one piece of information you learned that you can implement or that you feel is going to move the needle forward for your book marketing campaign. Drop what you have learned in the comments below! 🦫
