Welcome — you're in the right place
Maybe you know what it's like to let other people's opinions drown out your own voice — to stay quiet because it felt safer than being judged. If some part of you is ready to start listening to yourself again, that's enough. You don't need to have it all figured out. You can spend life saying "I wish I had" — or "I'm glad I did." This is a space for women choosing the second one. A little about me: I've faced PTSD and relationships that didn't survive it, and I've had to fight my way back through both. I chose to move anyway, even when fear had every reason to keep me stuck. That's the proof I bring here — it doesn't matter what your circumstance is, the courage is already inside you. I'm not here to help you dig through the past and figure out what went wrong. I'm here to help you build your future self — the version of you who already picked the dream back up — and close the gap between her and where you're standing now. If you're ready to stop saying "I wish I had," welcome to Own Your Second Chapter. You're in the right place.

Hi Nora, I’m still building my classroom content and it’s close to finishing - and yes, I’m open to new ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to look at it! I’m pretty intentional about the design and voice, but always open to hearing perspectives — appreciate you sharing.
Your Brain Doesn't Know "Someday" From "Never"
It just knows you’ve stopped. That's the quiet cost of leaving a dream behind — not failure, just... pause. And pause, left long enough, starts to feel permanent. But here's what the research on purpose keeps showing: people who are actively moving toward something that matters to them handle stress better, sleep better, and stay sharper longer. Not motivation-poster stuff — actual physiology. So maybe the question isn't "is it too late." It's: what have you been calling "someday" that's actually just waiting on you? Drop it in the comments — one word or one sentence, whatever it is. I'll go first: mine was curating everyone else's art for 15 years and letting my own painting sit untouched.

Your Brain Doesn't Know "Someday" From "Never"
Learning to slow down and to listen to yourself
Hi everyone, I just lit the fire for the first time this year, about twenty minutes ago. It’s now cold enough outside — the kind of day that pulls you inward instead of outward. I’ve just been sitting with it, watching the flames instead of rushing into the day. There’s something about fire that forces a different pace. You can’t hurry it. You just watch it move. It dances, it spikes, it forms its own rhythm, it calms you right down. A few minutes by the fire, no phone, just watching and asking myself one question: “What do I actually want right now?” Not what I should want. Not what’s next on the list. What do I want?? It sounds small. But most of us haven’t stopped long enough to ask it properly in years. We’re too busy pushing, doing, chasing the next thing — and the wanting gets buried under all of it. So if you’re looking for a place to start: find your version of the fire. A window, a walk, listening to music, a cup of tea before the house wakes up. Five minutes where nothing is required of you except to watch and ask. That’s where the dream you left behind starts to surface again — not from pushing harder, but from finally being still enough to hear it. “That question — what do I actually want — is exactly where I help women start.”

@Jocelyn Barker Hi Jocelyn, thanks for sharing and for being so open and honest. You already know the answer to “what do I actually want” — it’s having those five minutes, especially in the middle of the chaos. It just never had space to become real, because everything else needed you first. I always remember this — needing five minutes isn’t you being selfish, even if it feels that way. It actually helps let you make those decisions with a clearer head instead of a reactive one. That’s exactly what I help women find — not more time, but trusting that stopping first isn’t a luxury. Take the 5 minutes next time if you can. And remember how that feels. You’ve more than earned them and you are worthy ! 💖

"This is what's on my easel right now"
For a long time, this was the exception — the thing I only allowed myself to do if I was invited into a group show. Otherwise, it stayed in the too hard basket. I'm not hiding it anymore. This is part of building my second chapter — and I wanted this space, and you, to see it too."
