Intrusive thoughts
Salam, If anyone has any advice on how to stop seeing violent images in your mind before falling asleep, despite reading adkhar and Quran regularly throughout the day and in the night, please do share. It has been happening for many years.

@Zizii I yes it's a bit hard to tho as the more I try to get rid off them the more I struggle to fall asleep. What makes it even more distressing is that they're things I could never even imagine or things I’ve never seen or thought about before. I don’t understand where they come from, and I would never choose to think about them. Sometimes they scare me but at the same time I've become so used to them it's almost like I have to see them in order to fall asleep.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I can understand why this can make you feel angry, and even conflicted about your own identity and culture. May Allah make things easier for you. I came across this video some time ago, and it helped me with dealing with difficult parents/family members while still trying to maintain respect and boundaries. Even though the video is specifically about parents, I found that the lessons apply to so many different relationships and difficult people in general. May Allah protect your heart, give you wisdom in dealing with your family, and make your home a place where you feel safe and valued.
3 Weekly Questions
Was meant to post this on Saturday. 1. Which foundation had the biggest effect? No social media before dhuhr. 2. Where did I make the day harder? Escaping into my phone left little time to pack all my things which made the week even more overwhelming. 3. What rule will I carry into the next seven days? Protecting my early morning window so that I can get back into routine and feel at home here.

@Enze Chen JazakAllah khayr. I’m moving to a Muslim country soon quite spontaneously, and it’s only been a year since moving to another city. I’ve had to start and leave jobs often, and have had many changes in my personal life, so it takes me a while to bring myself to start again. I also don’t have much autonomy over my day apart from the early morning after Fajr. I understand your reset focuses on internal inconsistency such as making promises and disappearing. What about when inconsistency comes from external factors, like when life changes suddenly and repeatedly? How do you make progress during those times? And do I need the BUILD template, or is it optional?

Assalamu'alaikum. Could you all share any advice on how you can have more patience with parents and manage your anger if it rises when interacting with them?

Wa alaykum asalam I recently came across this video and it helped me a lot. He talks about the manner Ibrahim (as) spoke to his father and how to navigate your feelings while maintaining respect. https://youtu.be/vTs8aR_cUYk?is=TA1Yo_qMgvDDU351
