WHERE'S EVERYONE PLAYING THIS WEEKEND?
Thought we'd try something a little different this week! If you've got a gig coming up this weekend, let us know where you're playing, what sort of gig it is and what part of the world you're in. Pub, club, wedding, corporate gig, private party or a three-hour acoustic set in the corner while everyone watches the football. 😂 And if you're NOT gigging this weekend, let us know what you're up to instead. You never know, there might be another Pro Muso member just around the corner who could pop in and say hello! So, who's playing where this weekend? 🎸

Getting ready for a senior community gig in a couple hours. Then tomorrow at my regular gig at Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar. But... they dropped Sundays because of football season, so, I could be in trouble, because I just bought a new car. Wish me LUCK!!!

@Dms Productions You're preaching to the choir, I'm one of the few Philadelphians that does not "bleed green." They'll be bringing back Sundays in a couple months, though Rumor has it they may add Fridays again, too. Not holding my breath though. The big corporate venues go strictly by numbers.
A semi-loaded question
Ok my fellow musicians, this is my first Question for the Group, would like to get y'all's opinions. Here goes: Do you and/or your bands cross genres a lot, a little, or not al all? I'm not really talking about cross over hits like 'Copperhead Road' (one of my favorites, btw). I'm referring to the truly different genres, like 60s bubble gum pop to 90s grunge (an extreme example). If you do, how do you handle it? A set or mini set in each? Tempo based? Show/venue based? I like and perform most genres (no rap or modern hip hop)... I'm talking anything from Charlie Pride and Marty Robbins thru Aldo Nova and Bon Jovi, to Air Supply and the Little River Band. I'd just like to hear your thoughts!

I'm all over the place, genre-wise. I could easily be playing Daydream Believer one minute, followed by Copperhead Road, then follow that with Crimson and Clover or Red, Red Wine
🎤 Muso Question of the Week
What's a song you absolutely LOVE, but would NEVER play at a gig? Maybe it doesn't suit your voice, it's too obscure, goes on for nine minutes, has 14 chord changes before the first chorus, or you already know the audience would stare at you like you'd just started reading from the electricity bill. We all have songs we'd love to play if audiences weren't involved. What's yours, and why doesn't it make the setlist?

Bohemian Rhapsody. For all of the above reasons plus a few that I haven't invented yet. It's perfect for a group of drunk friends at a bar on karaoke night, but as an ancient solo acoustic performer, I'll leave that one to the more daring, accomplished players.

Addendum: Apparently, this song is also perfect for Nene, a certain 16-yr-old that has completely captivated the world recently. Here she is busking. This is next lev... https://youtu.be/_3b5HfZ1fKg?is=zXfUfXj5MFh88gZ5

Mash Ups
I do three of them: Stand By Me/Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For; Three Little Birds/Drift Away; and (sigh) Brown Eyed Girl/I'm a Believer. I'd like to do more of them - give me some ideas!
