🗓️ Weekly Review 29 August
I just want everyone to take 10 minutes to truly reflect on the week gone by. Don't just start typing immediately, maybe get up and pace around for a bit to help you deeply think "How did this week truly go, and was there anything else I could have realistically done to make it better?" It would be easy to just say "got some work done, but was a bit distracted so want to work on that for next week" but this isn't training our metacognition skills which we all know is what will allow us to really quickly find the root cause of our issues. A good reflection here will make the weekly plan so much easier tomorrow

@Aaraya S for that realisation about the basics, how did you come to that realisation? was it through deliberate reflection or based on an epiphany? i would say you are still a bit too focused on the 'what' not the 'how'. when we don't prioritise how we are doing things, we get stuck in this cyclical state of not being able to improve your productivity levels. have a look at my reflection if you want some more clarity on this

@Rezwan Habib completely agree with your assessment of a good day requiring a criteria. my advice would be to not overcomplicate this. we humans love making these super ambitious plans that work great for the first few days when we are motivated but fall apart the second we get busy. i would suggest picking no more than 5 things to complete in a day and try and identify the most pivotal moments that shape the trajectory of the day. ie waking up and going straigth on ur phone vs waking up and doing some meditation has a major impact on the rest of your morning. some of the ones i would recommend are: no phone for first hour of the day, complete plan for the day, remove distractions before work, and a solid daily wrap up routine to prep for the following day
Daily Check-In - Friday 28 August
Day [X] 🔥 Today: [Win/Draw/Loss + Justification] Tomorrow: [A 1% improvement to make tomorrow slightly better] Important: The 1% improvement should be something in your system/process rather than just a task. This is so the gain will ideally forever benefit you. Example: Eliminating one source of distraction will provide a benefit for every subsequent day, whereas doing a physics past paper will only help you in the short term. Also feel free to add additional things to your daily check-ins. For example I like posting my habit tracker here to keep myself accountable, you may want to do the same or to post your daily plans to keep you accountable. Remember, always progress over perfection

@Isaac T When nearing burnout, its super important to focus on improvement not by burning more fuel but by trying to look for easy ways of speeding up. seems like the mechanism by which you are trying to make tomorrow better is just brute force which is going to draw on your willpower reserves and drive you closer to burnout. Rather i want you to start looking for some easy wins. anything is better than yesterday so start there. also be concrete with what it is you are going to do to make tomorrow better. ie wake up 7am, immediately have shower and breakfast, before phone spend 20 mins focused making a really solid specific plan for the day which gives me plenty of lead time between tasks so ik i can get everything done, then at 5pm im going to do a good reflection on the day, create another good plan for tomorrow. if you do that, you get such a massive boost of momentum pretty easily

Harry McKerihan - About me
Hey everyone! I'm Harry, founder of Bloom Learning. I created Bloom with a goal of sharing the gift of effective learning habits with as many as possible to help create a world where education is accessible and attainable to everyone. A bit about me: - I'm based in Sydney, Australia - I'm a current 1st year student at the University of Sydney, studying a Bachelor of Science (Advanced), doing a double major in neuroscience and physiology (though I'm about to switch out physiology for psychology lol) - My goal is to continue to study a Master's of Education, a PhD in educational psychology and become a global leader in learning science, updating the current education system, which has been unchanged for over 100 years. - I'm also a big sports fan. I've played golf since I could walk, I love working out, and I'm a mad Canberra Raiders fan (Raiders slander will not be tolerated... jk). I also love AFL and Cricket (but only test). - I'm very much looking forward to getting to know all of you! Ik introductions seem rly cringe and often quite daunting, but I promise this is for a reason. If we can work to break down some of the barriers that exist between us, we can develop a really close knit community. Pro tip: After you post your introduction, find a few other people who seem to have similar interests to you (ie similar subjects, similar extracurriculars etc) and introduce yourself personally. Failure to post an introduction, and I will track you down (only half joking...)

🗓️ Weekly plan 30-5 September
Time to sit down and get an idea of what a successful next 7 days would look like. To help feel more in control of your life and like every day you are working towards something larger, a weekly plan is a vital tool. To make sure you are keeping up with your system progression, i want you to divide your weekly plan into two groups: One called "General" which is just your usual weekly plan, and one called "Bloom" which is where you plan what you need to do in order to improve your study system (Follow your progression document as this will give you the tasks that need to be completed) If you are unsure about how to do so, consult the guide i made as well as an exemplar plan that I made (links below) https://www.skool.com/bloom-learning-3643/classroom/39cbaba3?md=0d60a79e2b554a99893bf1f35fc17d8e https://www.skool.com/bloom-learning-3643/weekly-plan-20-27-july?p=020c0a79 No need to overthink this, just simply create a list of the tasks you would like to have ticked off or habits you would have liked to have completed in 7 days time. Make it as specific as possible so that each day when completing your daily plan for the following day, you are able to consult your weekly plan and decide on the tasks you want to tick off that day. Your ultimate goal is to have some metric to compare against at the end of the week to determine if your week was a success.

Day 20: ultimately what a successful week would look like by next saturday i want to be caught up with my uni work and assignments, i want to have implemented an improved large scale priming mechanism, i want to have made strong headway with the next level of the community, i want to remain closely integrated with the community, and i want to maintain control over how i spend my time, namely my evenings meaning im either reading, going to the gym with friends or alone, or doing something meaningful. i also want to continue to progress my reflective skills to improve my productivity. to do this: in terms of uni, i need to finish all week 4 lectures ideally finish my psyc task prep for the sydney science task keep up with SIR schedule do a large scale re-encoding session for w1-3 content go through ICS content to update approach to priming and large scale encoding in terms of personal productivity i need to spend 45 minutes per day on a daily wrap up where i review weekly plan every day and consult it in the construction of the daily plan for the next day - How? include habit tracker in daily check in message in terms of business finish acquisition.com offers course finish acquisition.com scaling roadmap level 0 https://www.icloud.com/notes/note/UHJpdmF0ZTo6Tm90ZXM6OmN1cnJlbnRVc2VyOjo2MjI2MDk1Yy02MTFmLTQ2MWYtYTE2Zi0xZTVhYTZjZjAwOGY= consider how we are going to qualify leads keep up to date with students, let them know what is happening, and ask them for feedback + what they would like to see

Day 18 🔥 Today: Win - another difficult day due to illness. Did as much as i realistically could. Honestly not much to reflect on, it wasn't a pretty day by any means but i did as much as i could given the circumstances. did well to prioritise the most important work. Tomorrow: Continue keeping phone removed, this was done really well today + focus on productivity by subtraction. get the most important work done first

@Aaraya S Great to see you starting on two column notes. Doesn't have to be right away if you want to practice a bit more to find your footing, but sometime soon it would be good to see some submissions showing what you have completed so i can give feedback to help you refine your technique
