SOTD - Rich Warm Addictive Frosted Woods
The Rich Warm Addictive line is easily my favorite range from Zara—an absolute budget banger lineup that punches way above its price point. I have the OG, but the reformulated version. Picked up Infinite during a trip to Spain and grabbed Frosted Woods while in Rome. Honestly, these 3 are nuce additions to almost any collection—unless, of course, you’re too boujee for designer/budget gems! 😉 How’s everyone else feeling about the RWA line

SOTE - Layering - French Defense and Aventus
Had to pivot after a post-shower reset when my Beach Hut Man had completely worn off. Heading out to run a few quick errands, French Defense was calling my name, so I obliged. By evening, FD was still lingering nicely—around 4–5 hours in—but instead of just doing a straight top-up, I was itching to layer. I ran a few scent profiles through ChatGPT and Gemini, and both AI bots independently suggested pairing it with Aventus. Decided to test the theory: 1. Sprayed 2 sprays of Aventus on each wrist/forearm and let it settle for a couple of minutes. 2. Layered 2 sprays of French Defense right over top. The verdict: Absolute money. The dark, juicy cherry and smooth amber of French Defense meld surprisingly well with the smoky pineapple and birch dry-down of Aventus. It cuts the heavy sweetness of the cherry and gives the chypre base of Aventus an insanely rich, fruity depth. If you have both in your collection, give this combination a run. Anyone else tried pairing Mind Games with Creed?

SOTD - Silk of Paris
Dua's inspiration of Dries Van Noten – Soie Malaquis I’m still on the hunt for a sample or decant of the OG to do a side-by-side comparison, but evaluated strictly on its own merits? This stuff is unbelievably sexy. It opens bright and fresh with a vibrant citrus and rose pairing, beautifully grounded by a nuttiness from the chestnut note that keeps the citrus far away from any "household cleaner" territory. (And for anyone seeing chestnut and immediately thinking Stronger With You—trust me, set that comparison aside entirely. This isn't even in the same zip code.) As it settles, the initial citrus softens, letting the rose step into the spotlight as a warm, cozy cocoa note starts to creep up from the base. True to its name, there’s an unmistakably soft, velvety texture weaving through the entire life of the fragrance—if a scent could actually feel like silk, this is it. Whether this hits 1:1 or just captures the core DNA, it’s done its job: the OG is officially a priority buy for me now. Anyone here compared Silk of Paris directly to Soie Malaquis? How close did Dua get?

SOTD: Creed Wild Vetiver
Perfect choice for right after the rain. Wild Vetiver has this crisp, green, almost freshly washed feel bright citrus and pepper up top, a slightly fruity floral heart, then that clean earthy vetiver and cedar underneath. The moisture in the air just seems to bring the green side of this one alive. Fresh without being boring and polished without smelling overly dressed up. Performance: I’m getting around 8-10 hours of longevity, with very good projection early and a noticeable scent trail for the first couple of hours. This may be one of Creed’s better-performing fresh releases in quite a while. After-the-rain scent done right.

Fantastic scent, this was the first Creed that made me get a bottle and I even bought it at the Creed boutique instead of a discounter, granted it was cheaper in Europe than discounters here😁
Battle - Opus XIV Royal Tobacco vs Dua Tobacco of Royals 14
From memory these were close but didn't have the opportunity to do a side by side. The Dua has been chilling a few months so it should be good to go. Opening, the similar in the air, but as you get closer, Dua is a bit brighter from the cardamom and citrus, while Amouage focused more on the anise so it had a darker vibe. This goes on for a few minutes and Amouage has this nice church wood when up close with, the nose, that Dua doesn't exhibit. Projection they are on par with each other. 10-20 min. Dua has this very slightly higher resinous sweetness, just a smidge. Into the mid, about 20 minutes in, these fall with about 85% of each other, can only tell the difference about an 1" or closer. Amouage's licorice note is one notch up and the tobacco is just a wee bit more as well. About an hour in, these have both dried down beautifully, however Amouage has brought back it's slight church wood vibe that makes it a bit warmer than Dua. Dua now sits in that 85-90%, but it has it moments where it is virtually indistinguishable, but not consistent. Overall scent I give to Amouage. You know where the bang for buck is. Final thoughts. I love them both and if I decide to dive into the house of Amouage, this will be a bottle that will be on my list, but until then, I am very content with how well the Dua has done their version. Winner is Amouage! Update : 9/28/26 Well I pulled the trigger on the OG, it has been on my want list for awhile. I love the Dua version, as you can see by the dent in my bottle, gifting it to my friend l, so it is going to a good home.
