Today was a Great Day
One of the reasons I love hanging out with like-minded people is how much we learn from each other. Today we did yoga on the beach. And after yoga, we set our intention for the day. One of the guys said that he heard from somewhere that the first thing you do in the morning, as soon as you're conscious, is say, "Today was a great day." Then go win the day. As time doesn't exist in the consciousness or the spirit, it assumes that you had a great day, so now you can go and have a great day. In the intention setting, they took this a bit further, and we said today was a great day because... Something I'm definitely going to give a try. How about you?

The Resonant Thought Leader
Yesterday at the Harvest workshop we talked about how a quiz is such a great lead magnet. 🧲 Here’s an example of a great quiz (and follow up) provided by one of the women in my Mastermind group - Macy. What I love 💕 1. The quiz is thoughtfully put together and intrigued me 2. The archetype thing made me curious 3. The outcome matched how I feel about my work and gave me insight into what I should be focusing on (and not focusing on) 4. The PDF I received was super helpful and included a short video which helped with trust 5. The next step was to join a free webinar to dive further into the assessment (which I did) 6. The webinar ended up being just me and was therefore super tailored to my report - even more insight 7. Macy was totally not salesy - she told me upfront that she would pitch her product and that I could say no 8. At the end of the webinar she asked if I’d like to know more. I said no as I’m not ready to invest and it was not awkward 9. Finally she followed up with further insights and the recording I know that when I’m ready I would have no doubt in working with her further. Try the quiz for yourself (ps this is an affiliate link but I’m not sure what I’d get from it!)

Genius Women!
Inspired by @Ben Sherry I'm excited to introduce you to the Genius series 💃 I've been reaching out on LinkedIn in a quirky way. Ask me about that in the comments if you'd like to know more. I'm then interviewing people as part of the Genius Series, where I will, with their permission, upload the interview to a platform of their choice. I'm also popping it onto my YouTube platform. 🔐 Am I Going Back to Prison?
Life has taken an unexpected twist. Back in July, I was invited to a prison down the road from me to do a guest talk. One of the guys had been writing to his buddy and had read my book, Wing of an Angel. He then invited me back for a day supporting veterans in prison, and I decided to take along @Louise Knighton And the buddy that was supporting him, we all had a fabulous day. Real interesting prisoner with an amazing rehabilitative attitude, and I even had "Play My Way" by Frank Sinatra. Oh, and a cake because it was my birthday. We did that visit without any agenda or reason other than to support the guy who had reached out and asked us to come and do a talk. It was totally voluntary, and the two girls were amazing. We had a lot of fun together. This week, the prison governor, who is called a director because it's a private prison, reached out to me to ask what it would be like if we were to provide our services into that prison on a longer-term basis. I have a curriculum and a program from my days of running the nonprofit Beyond Recovery, so I set up a call with him to discuss what that might look like. This morning, I spent 3 hours writing a proposal to take that curriculum back into a prison that I worked with in 2016. When it wasn't so innovative and to be honest, it was hard work. I've had all sorts of other ideas (being an entrepreneur) about what could follow, because that's the way my mind goes, but what I truly know is that when you do anything like this, you just submit it and you say, "We'll see." It could come off. It might not come off. Some other different thing might come off. But it reminded me deeply of how we can never know what's coming our way and what might grow from that. We can never know the impact we're having and the ripple effects from that. We can never know what life has in store for us. We just have to be ready to say yes when it offers something. I'd love to hear your stories on when this has happened for you.

"Am I Going Back to Prison?" Best post title ever! 😁 Congrats on the new possible opportunity, MamaJ! At times the Universe has sent me east after I specifically said I want to go west! It was confusing but I went with it. Example 1: 2008: A year after graduating from college with a BA in Film, I had $25K school loan debt and still no employment. Got the opportunity to deliver lost luggage. Silently argued: 'why did I bother to finish my degree?!' Seeing no other option, I took the job [aka went east]. Several things happened: 1. it relieved financial pressure 2. got me back out into the world 3. got my mind off of the anxiety and abundance-blocking merry-go-round. Within 10 days, I was offered the money for a brand new computer that I was able to use to start a video editing business. When you're sent a completely different direction than you think you're supposed to go, go! 😀
