13 contributions to Strength After 40
🎓 Campus Lesson
Today's lesson is a simple reminder that protein isn't just about building muscle. After 40, protein plays an important role in maintaining strength, supporting recovery, promoting bone health, increasing satiety, and helping us age well. Small, consistent habits add up over time. Take a look at today's lesson below, and then I'd love to hear from you... Campus Question: What's your favorite healthy source of protein? Or... What's one way you try to include more protein in your day? I can't wait to read your responses! — Holly

@Cathy Looney maybe try to set aside 30 minutes a few days per week to batch cook proteins? This can help tremendously as they take the longest-even cooking scrambled eggs with cottage cheese several servings at a time are super easy to heat back up

Weekly Win Check-In Time!
It's that time — let's celebrate what you crushed this week! For me, I began a new training block this week and am a little sore 💪🏼 but I’m just about to finish up my final day for the week! So my aim is to crush the back and shoulders today! Drop a comment below and share: - One workout win (a new PR, a harder set, showing up when you didn't want to — all counts!) - How you're feeling — stronger, sore, proud, all of the above? No win is too small. Showing up consistently after 40 IS the win. 🏋️‍♀️ Strong > skinny. Let's hear it! 👇

TRYING to get SMALLER? STILL?!
What if we focused on getting STRONGER instead of SMALLER? I've been thinking a LOT lately about what women really need in this season of life. Because somewhere along the way, so much of the conversation became: Lose weight. Eat less. Get smaller. Fight aging. (AND btw, you CAN fight aging while you get STRONG!) Fix your body. But what if the goal was something different? What if we focused on becoming stronger, more capable, more confident and more at home in our bodies? Not giving up on looking good. Not giving up on feeling sexy. Not pretending body composition doesn't matter. But making strength the foundation instead of constantly chasing skinny. I'm working on something behind the scenes for the women in this community, and I want YOUR voice to help shape it. So tell me: If you could change ONE thing about how you feel in your body right now, what would it be? More strength? More energy? More confidence? Less frustration with your weight? Feeling better in your clothes? Feeling capable again? Something else? Tell me honestly. I want to hear what you're actually struggling with—not what you think you "should" say. I want EVERY lady here to respond to this! And also…something new is coming. More on that soon.

@Carrie Craft it takes time to build that lean muscle and definitely consistency! Progressive overload over time will change how muscle is increased and your shape changes!

@Cathy Looney gaining muscle is definitely a process-have you ever had cortisol levels checked?
