@Zsolt Szabo Super! It's great to hear you will be with us.

@Yannick Di Mondo Good idea, but I believe everything can be done even more easily. Participation for new members became paid, so there should not be so many new non-active members. This week's batch for departure is about 150 people; maybe one or two more batches in the next few weeks, and the issue will be solved for good.
It's time to make the Guild tight-knit
“Are you the published author too?” or “Where are you in your publishing journey?” - how many times have we faced such comments and similar AI-generated posts and comments in publishers’ communities? But from a community owner’s point of view, this is the price for the ability to grow a community big. At least, I thought so. But today I understood clearly that I had drifted a long way from the point I had in mind when I launched the Guild. The idea was to have people around who filtered out the noise and actively shared a signal. And I know there are not so many such people. So, it's time to make the Guild small but signal-dense. I will start with myself and share more of my findings and questions that I want answers to. If you feel you're getting value from the Guild, please do the same - let's help each other grow. You need not solve major problems of the Universe to be helpful; sometimes a simple question can lead to a chain reaction that creates a totally new perspective. Ask, give feedback, share your wins and issues. Be present. And this is not just a change in philosophy. I am going to act on it. Members who remain inactive will be publicly notified that they are scheduled to leave the Guild. They will have an opportunity to become active, and those who continue to remain inactive will be removed.

@Maxime Lebrun @Maria L. You reminded me of the days in 2020 and how we entertained ourselves. 😄

@Maxime Lebrun Artist 12 Pro. Yes, a great device. Especially because it's a computer screen, and it was possible to use it with Affinity Photo, with all its presets, brushes, etc. And how much money was earned in 2020-2022 from the drawing, like the attached... Unfortunately, the last time I used it to draw was two years ago, maybe. P. S. I just realized - it was vibe-drawing.
What were you up to last week?
@Thomas Bika @Alexandra L @Dhanisha Reddy @Shruti Mishra @Kimberly Matthews @Majid Kamil @Kim Sarsons @Tim D @Haley F @Hyun Lee As I wrote yesterday, we are making the Guild more interwoven, so we are starting with people we have not yet heard from. You all joined a long time ago, and we still have no idea what you are working on. I would like to know. What are you publishing right now? What is not working? Or ask something you have been wondering about for a while. A simple question is often the most useful thing anyone posts here. A comment under this post is enough. One line. If you do want to participate, it's OK. It just means that the Guild is not what you need at the moment, and you will leave the community. But the door stays open if that changes.

@Maxime Lebrun For the last three or four months, it has been unbelievably good in translation quality. Sometimes it proposes even better versions than I could.

@Maxime Lebrun And Google Translate? Is it some modern tool? ABBYY Lingvo - that was the translator back then. And all around me, they speak not French, not Spanish, not even Dutch. They speak FINNISH. 😄
If you are in the Halloween activities niche, it's time to ramp up your ads
Since not everybody has the tools I have, I decided to share data on the largest niches from time to time. Today I took "Halloween Coloring Book" and calculated seasonality for the first 20 books Amazon recommended. It's clear that the time to act is now. And on November 8, it will be time to calculate your results.

@Maxime Lebrun As for technical details: Antigravity as the workhorse, Claude for strategy and hard cases, Codex if limits are exhausted on Gemini and Claude. 😄 The repo planned to be easily used in all three environments together. Node.js, SQLite for database, and books rich data in JSON files on SSD ('cause years of data of 150,000 books is too much for SQLite).

@Thomas Juuls 50K of paperbacks and 50K of Kindles for niche research refreshing during a week. And the rest are for different services, updated on demand, without regularity.
Amazon KDP Glossary
ACoS - Advertising Cost of Sales. How much ad spend generates a specific amount of revenue: (Ad Spend / Ad Sales) × 100%. It's important to remember that the revenue is the full price of the book, and you receive royalties that are normally 20-35% of the book price. Also, ad sales do not include organic sales. ASIN - Amazon Standard Identification Number. It is a unique 10-character code made of letters and numbers that Amazon uses to identify and track every book in its store. You can find the ASIN of your book in the address of your book page. E.g., ...dp/1454961791 BSR - Best Sellers Rank. The number shows how well a book is selling compared to other books (it works the same for other product categories). The best-selling book has a BSR of #1. A BSR of around #100,000 means the book sells about one copy a day. You can find the BSR of your book under Product Details on your book's Amazon page. TACoS - Total Advertising Cost of Sale. Total ad spend against total revenue (both paid and organic sales combined), calculated as (Ad Spend / Total Sales) × 100. --- We had a great chat with @Latte Motte today, and one of the takeaways for me was the idea to create the glossary for newcomers. The glossary will be continuously extended and updated. Write in the comments which definitions or concepts should be included.

@Jelena Fehmi I checked and I cannot find any traces of BSR for the book in the U.S. nor in the U.K. - it seems the book never sold on these markets. Could it be that you offered the book for free for a few days and it was BSR in the free books?
