The Empty Room Method: Why Your Best Seedance Shots Start With Nobody In Them
Everyone builds the perfect starting image first. Characters placed, outfits right, lighting just so — then they hand it to the video model and let it animate that picture one-to-one. And that's the ceiling most people never realize they set for themselves. The model traces what you gave it instead of imagining anything, the sequence comes out stiff, and you burn reps re-rolling clips that were capped before they started. The flip is what I'd call the Empty Room Method: don't hand the AI a finished shot, hand it ingredients. Generate the environment on its own — no people in it at all — attach your saved character separately, and let the model reimagine the scene from scratch instead of animating a still. Then it goes into Seedance multi-shot and builds. There's one detail that quietly decides whether it works: your prompt overrides your character's outfit. So what you write — and more importantly what you delete — determines which one wins. Scotty shows exactly which line to cut, plus the one style setting he leaves on for realism. I won't oversell it: this doesn't make the model read your mind, and you'll still spend a few generations cleaning up the prompt. But it's a change in your order of operations, not a skill you have to grind for — and the take that came out of it on this call got called flawless. Watch the full walkthrough below 👇 Give the AI room to imagine. Don't hand it a picture to trace. Still guessing why your clips land flat? That's what VIP is for — Scotty sits with you 1-on-1 and takes your scenes apart until you can spot it yourself. Join us inside VIP >>

I am leaning more and more into this for 2/3 of the stuff I do. The absurd stuff is faster with a solid keyframe (but I might experiment)
Hidden Cheat Codes Releasing God Mode
I am turning into a curmudgeon. Cynical to the core. Instagram is distilling down into a few lanes. Beautiful women, "God Mode", and assorted hidden hacks. You have seen them. Comment the secret word and you will inherit virality. Be it prompts, templates, or divine code words. It won't matter if your idea is a good one or not, just use these prompts and templates and live amongst the stars. How appropriate, Michael Jackson, Just Beat it came across YouTube as I am writing this. MY PSA For my content-creating brethren, consider this a public service. I am scrolling through the nonsense so you don’t have to—and calling it out before another “hidden cheat code” convinces good creators that shortcuts matter more than ideas. The Boomer Blogger is not here to mock creators for trying. I am here to mock the garbage advice wasting their time. Make something useful. Say something worth hearing. Give people a reason to stop scrolling that does not require a secret word, a stolen template, or access to God Mode. And if your post genuinely helps someone, relax. Yours probably isn’t next. To that end, these are just the beginning. I am in the middle of a couple more. Comments? Suggestions? Topics?

@Don Dixon welp, forget some of what I posted below as you are changing things up more with this one. I would cut out some of the clunky transitions, though, and make some spots tighter.

@Don Dixon much better. At the :30 mark the image fading over you avatar is the only clunky composition I see. Maybe your avatar doesn't need to be behind it. On a side note, I would simplify your captions with minimal animations. I think it gets in the way of your story. Also, simple transitions (for now) as the few that are there are distracting and not consistent throughout. When you get a tight edit, see if putting them in makes sense.
Feature Requests 7/19
1. Voice attachment to Characters. Is this a real thing and/or possible? Even if it is just a way to save the stock voice I want with a character name . I am always going back searching for the voice I used before. Hmmmm... 2. Video Editing. Had to Mozy over to Higgs for this.
Whaaaa??? I need your help!
This is crazy. It feels surreal for me to have done what all current experts in AI and software engineering say is impossible – build something completely from scratch, 100% vibe coded, with no experience in engineering. It was a learning process to be sure and I still need your help! Now that you guys have your hands on ShortPulse: 1. What has been the best feature or most reward and satisfying aspect of using ShortPulse? 2. What has been the LEAST rewarding and most frustrating aspect? I'm still working 12-16 hours everyday to quickly fix all the issues coming up and address all of your issue reports! Don't hesitate to use the, report issue and the customer support buttons in your ShortPulse account menu dropdown.

1. I like how everything is easily accessible and not the shitshow of everything screaming at you like over at Higgs. 2. I haven't totally opened this thing up all the way but I am frustrated when I try to create a multi character nano bana image I can only choose one character and no scene reference. It may be in a video, but that is what I would like to have access to. This looks and feels great. Awesome job, good sir! 🔥🔥🔥
