I still use this Breathwork when I have deadlines or am travelling away from home. The key is not to treat it as a key to a lock. It’s a process and a way to change your attitude to being awake. It allows rest and a space to drift back into sleep.
How to wake up your conscious mind with the right attitude
It takes a long time for many of us to realise we can escape the crushing weight of feeling unlovable or "defective." In this video, we explore the profound potential for human change and how to reclaim your space in the world. Inspired by the teachings of F.M. Alexander, we discuss the power of "waking up" the conscious mind to stop being controlled by negative thought patterns. Every morning is a fresh start—an opportunity to realise that you are not defined by your past struggles, but by your capacity to change and grow. In this video, you will learn: Why the "unworthy" narrative is a thought, not a truth. How to use conscious awareness to stop shrinking yourself. The importance of starting fresh every single morning. How to reclaim your "full space" in the world. ✨ Take the first step towards a new start today.

@Fergus McCausland thank you. I think this starts to become such a positive thing with Breathwork that’s trauma informed and about connecting with the whole self in Alexander terms. You get a sense of ease and of capacity for stillness. One example, if you can forgive the metaphor - is looking out of a window on a plane and seeing a bit of a view of mountains behind a thick glass window and lots of clouds. Then climbing to the top of the same mountains yourself a few years later on a clear day and seeing everything from a much more dynamic perspective. You are clearing away the barriers and obstacles and being more present.
Breathwork changed my life. It could really change yours.
Ten years ago, I stood in front of a room full of people at this exact venue, completely overwhelmed. On the outside, i looked like I was calm and collected while speaking to a packed room . On the inside, I was running entirely on panic and adrenaline. That day forced me to confront a hard truth: you cannot simply push your way through stress. Forcing yourself to perform when your body is screaming at you carries a heavy personal cost. That evening I decided enough was enough and went to a Alexander Technique teacher who taught me about breathwork, and the shift was profound. It changed the way I live and work so deeply that I went on to train as an Alexander Technique teacher. Now, I am returning to where it started. On 24th September 2026, I am hosting an in-person breathwork course at this venue. This is a grounded, trauma-informed breathwork course based on current research into the nervous system. There are no gimmicks or extreme breathing exercises; it is focused on safe, sustainable physiological regulation. This day is built specifically for: Business leaders carrying the cognitive and physical load of relentless decision-making NHS doctors and nurses living with high workplace pressure and compassion fatigue Psychologists and therapists looking for practical, somatic approaches to support their clients Anyone working in the emergency services Anyone feeling the quiet, physical toll of long-term stress You will leave with practical, skills to reset your breathing, release physical tension, and regain calm in high-stakes environments. Spaces are kept limited to ensure a focused, safe environment. If you would like to join us, all the details and booking information are in the first comment below. Alternatively, feel free to send me a direct message with any questions

Breathwork masterclass
Just under ten years ago I stood in St John’s church about to speak to a packed congregation at Christmas. I had not slept well in weeks because my baby daughter seemed to think sleep was for wimps. I was so stressed about speaking in public. My heart was racing and I was considering leaving as I felt so awful. Then I remembered the breathwork I learned years ago and in a few moments somethings changed. Sometimes it takes a situation like this to wake you out of bad habits. I was determined to make sure I never felt like this again and I started doing breathwork again most days. It was a quiet process and one I kept very secret. So last Thursday at St John's Church in Knutsford, something special happened. What started as Breathwork training for our NHS and emergency services quickly grew into something so much bigger: a room full of people from all walks of life, coming together to breathe, slow down and reconnect. We're living through a time of so much stress and pressure. I know firsthand how powerful Breathwork can be, because it has genuinely changed my own life. Seeing that same shift happen for others is why I do this. Thank you to everyone who came and brought such open hearts to the room. If you would like to find out more about group and one to one Breathwork training let me know. #Breathwork
