Wellness Week is waiting for you!
If you’ve been sitting on the fence about Wellness Week, consider this your gentle nudge: Come. There will always be another responsibility, another reason to wait, or another person who needs something from you. But perhaps this is the moment to make room for what you need—time with God, nourishing meals, joyful movement, genuine rest, meaningful connection, and a little breathing room. At Wellness Week 2026: FLOURISH, you’ll enjoy: 🌿 Healthy meals curated for you 🌿 Exercise classes for every BODY 🌿 Scripture journaling and umbrella prayers 🌿 Horseback riding and other fun activities 🌿 Lots of porch time and free time 🌿 Encouragement from Peg Arnold to become the woman God created you to be. Come for the weekend or stay for the full week. You don’t need to arrive in perfect shape, know anyone else, or have your life all figured out. Just come as you are. You spend so much of your life caring for everyone else. Maybe it’s time to let God care for you. Your place on the porch is waiting. Will you join us? https://www.firstplaceforhealth.com/event/wellness-week-2026/ FLOURISH Rooted in Truth. Growing in Wellness. October 8–14 | Round Top, Texas

Is this offered every year? I would not be able to attend this year, but I want to get it on my calendar for next year.
Pause
What is something you've learned to pause before doing that has positively impacted your wellness journey?

Does it need to be said. And, does it need to be said by me. Much of the time the answer is no. 😢
What is yours?
What is a task that you are going to make sure comes off your to do list this week?

@Sherrie Carroll that’s great. Let the weeding and pruning begin. I’ve been seeing a new doctor. He is a natural path and does not readily prescribe prescription medications, which is what I was looking for. We went over my test results and in the list of changes to incorporate, he gave me one on how to eat and I thought others might benefit. I am a one pot cooker. But he told me it’s best to eat food separately and in a particular order. On a plate - half of it should be green or fibrous vegetables quarter of it should be protein and the other quarter can be like a starch - rice sweet or reg potato or fruit. Cooking with coconut avacado or olive oil for the fat. He said always eat your greens first then your protein and then last year starch or fruit. He told me why but can’t really remember what he said. I’ll start this next week as I have prepped and tossed all into one pot already. 😊

@Sherrie Carroll I haven’t done a great job following this very strictly, but I did Google the reasons and now I remember that’s exactly what he said - It stabilizes blood sugar. It promotes a feeling of being full sooner so portion sizes are less. It Increases fiber intake. Supports steady energy & cravings. And, it helps us to eat our veggies lol. I am like you I want to eat my hot food first. Lol. Some habits are hard to break.

I have been working at my two goals with pretty good success - no late night scrolling to get better rest and no eating after 6:30. Yesterday I prepped breakfast and lunch with with my sons girlfriend for the first time. We both felt energized and committed to making this a weekly practice. It has a double benefit - having healthy meals ready to go and a good time to connect. This will be the third change I intend to make a habit in my health journey. My husband quoted a line in article he read a while back on baseball. It is something I have thought about off and on. "If you want to win, you have to be prepared to win". I now believe that is true for just about anything in life, not just baseball. 😁 Have a great week all.
